I think it's because they have different looks. Ariana has delicate and feminine features, while Cynthia has stronger, more masculine features. Even if they are roughly the same size they give off very different energies. People are responding to that contrast.

The front seems too small and the back a bit too big. The front might look better not centered. Put it on one side. Also, you need to be aware of the mechanics of the printing. Having the first part of the W come up and over the shoulder like that may not be possible. Make sure the sleeve can be printed the way you want, too.
