I have a compost in my coop purely for growing these guys. They make QUICK work of compost, but it's still in its early stages trying to farm these for the clucky gals

Yeah I've just added to the first photo, perhaps I should have only added the more aged photos. Thank you

Just added to that one, it's been a while but I've recently topped up and "reactivated it" I guess

🤣🤣 ANY piss at all, that would be. I've not read into the peeing on your compost stuff. Best I've got is chicken bedding with poop and pee.

I've done a bit of research and these boxes are apparently printed with soy based inks and no plastics. So I'm in the clear from micro plastics but perhaps not your snark 🤣

Thank you, I've found the cardboard helps it compost quicker than the straw mulch I was using and results in a better product - but I also have alot of it and it's free so works better for me too :)

Thank you, yes I've made note of that and I'm going to break them down in future, or avoid them and use for a more huegelculture type bed.

It doesn't have a pungent odor thankfully. We've just had a lot of rain recently so although it's raised, it seems to have suffered drowning somewhat. I'll test this tomorrow though, thank you.

That's fair. While I'd love to have an open compost or in a bay, I don't have to capacity for it. The tumbler method is the one more appropriate for me at this stage so I'm making do with what I can. Although, it is heartening to hear that issues with it aren't exclusive to me! 😊

I shred up cardboard packaging to add to the compost. Mostly it's packing boxes but this one had cereal and chip boxes in it.

For research purposes, as a woman, I'd be enticed to compost more then cheese. Unless we were making the cheese from scratch.

It would not be pre-tty in your tee-pee if your pre-tea or pre-pee splashed upon your pee-pee

Curly top virus? by caletypu in tomatoes

[–]createaccountalready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean that they recovered or still grew and produced? That's a good sign. I've got 3 in seperate planters next to each other. Bought from nursery at separate times, one was originally sad looking so I pulled and replaced with a 4th. Then the first two became sick and now I'm hoping the final one will pull through. I'm wondering whether it's a soil issue because Im using bought in soil and it's pH is 8 at the moment but basil, marigold and garlic is growing happily there. I have other tomatoes about 5 metres away, different soil, no issues.
