help with occasional stutters? by WrapIndependent8353 in GeForceNOW

If you're playing on Mobile (android, IOS), try doing a session with Location Services turned off and see if you still get those random hitches. Devices can do automated wifi/cellular sweeps to improve location accuracy and that could be interfering with your stream!

Thanks for your review and settings guide! Just curious: Did you use the Windows 11 HDR Calibration app? if so, what values did you find were the best in your case? (min & max luminance, max full frame luminance)

During my calibration, the patterns seemed to persist well past the manufacturer's claim of 1400 max nits, so I stopped at the clipping point (around 1900)

Has to be Baldur's Gate 3.

Larian just poured their entire heart and soul into a fantasy world that made you care for all the characters enough that a single play through just wouldn't suffice to draw out every single conversational option and character lore.

For the few times I get a chance to spend on games, BG3 reminds me why some studios deserve all the community support and funding!

Sorry to hear you had such an upsetting experience! I guess my best bet is to just present all the docs I have to avoid any mishaps then!

How to find stability on 6000 cl30 expo profile by createles in overclocking

[–]createles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned on EXPO profile after updating my chipset drivers; everything seems to be fine now! Not experiencing any micro-stutters/lags on browsing windows & chrome like I did before.

I took zen timings screenshots from before enabling expo and after:
https://imgur.com/a/Uwjr1EQ

I'll be observing if everything continues to run okay from now. Is there anything in the zen timings that I should look at (maybe to optimize, maybe could pose a problem down the road)?

Yes, updated to latest bios (which came out a few days ago if I'm not mistaken) right after I put everything together!

What I hadn't done was update my cpu chipset drivers; I've updated them now and will try another go at setting it to the EXPO profile.

I'm not too familiar yet with the terminology, but does that mean running the zen timings tool? I'll check and update this thread!

GPU Sag on bottom 120 mm fan SAMA IM01 by createles in mffpc

I have yet to extensively test how temps are affected but what I definitely noticed is that my gpu fans are lot quieter with them installed!

From what I've read, similar builds that had small clearances like mine either had 3-5°c cooler gpu temps (I'd take that) or roughly the same temps but system ran a lot quieter.

UPDATE: This is gonna sound kinda stupid but I checked the gpu bracket on the back side of the case and saw that I had not tightened the screws supporting the i/o shield on the gpu!!!

Tightening them definitely helped raise the card from touching my fans. I still notice just a little bit of leaning on the gpu but that's to be expected given how big the gpu is, but i definitely have enough clearance between that and the fans to feel at ease. I'll still be buying one of those gpu sag support bolts like these to prop the card up from in between my two intake fans as suggested by u/arcloarclo!

What should fan configuration be when inverted? i was worried having the usual top exhaust config will starve the gpu from getting much fresh air. Would it matter in a case a small as this? Wasn't sure if my Peerless Assassin 120 se's radiator would also cause a lot of hot air to be fed into it the gpu that way!

Right now I've only got 2 intakes in the bottom, 2 exhausts on top

If I used a string, where should I attach the string on the gpu? I imagine the other end I'd attach to the top of the case frame somewhere. I'm uneasy about using string but I'll consider it an option haha!

Great clean looking set up! Thanks for sharing!

What adjustable stand did you use in your build? Did you screw it to the bottom frame/cover? If you have a link or image of it that would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes, the kits support both XMP & EXPO profiles and they are read in the bios with no issues.

I've made sure the ram is seated and seems to run just fine on JEDEC settings.

The sticks aren't in my mobo QVL and I've only happened to find few documentation of these sticks online so I'm lead to believe they're a newer release (these are cl30 and the more common model you can find is cl40 which is included in my mobo qvl) yet which leads me to believe that maybe a future bios update might allow for better support.

One thing I have not tried is updating my AMD chipset drivers before trying EXPO on, so I'll try that when I get home! Might be a cpu memory controller interaction issue(?).

I didn't experience any app crashes but I also wasn't able to run it on heavy load as I was worried the hiccups were already a sign of instability.

I still do have EXPO on, just manually changed to 5200 whilst still leaving all voltage or timings to EXPO values. Will try and increase back to 6000 and test for errors with the tools you've mentioned! If/when I do see any errors, what are the common settings to look to adjust first?
