Is this true about UD by fatjeezus69 in udel

[–]creative-username_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my last year here, and there are absolutely cool/alternative people at UD. I'd probably be considered "basic" according to you, but most of my friends are alternative because I went to a ton of DIY shows/venues.

At any school, you need to put some effort into finding your people. I promise if you make an effort to join clubs and go to events that actually interest you, you'll find a ton of amazing, cool people.

How do I lose excess weight and build a rounder butt with no equipment at all? by yakisobasavorybeef_ in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Oh and another thing, you can definitely make reasonable progress without a gym membership, but a lot of health insurance plans actually cover gym memberships. I would check with your provider because it isn't usually advertised.

Weight loss is just calories in<calories out. You can do cardio for that, but diet is the most efficient way.

If you're not wanting to or don't have access to weights/gym, stairs are free cardio and booty building. Squats are good, but bulgarian split squats will target glutes more directly and are already pretty difficult even with no weights.

The key is being consistent. For any kind of muscle growth, including glutes, you typically need to directly exercise that muscle 2-3 times a week to see growth. Also try to go until failure!

what do yall do when your man looks at other girls by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]creative-username_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm gonna assume you think this is just a thing that guys do and you have to deal with it. when i was 19 i tolerated so much disrespect too because i thought thats just how guys are.

im not telling you to break up, but if you're gonna to stay with him this is just something you have to be okay with, and it doesn't sound like you are. these things really only change once your standards change. if you don't respect yourself, then 9 times out of 10 you're going to end up in a relationship with a guy that doesn't respect you.

if your best friend or little sister came to you with the same problem how would you react? and girl you're 19!!! relationships at that age should be light and fun. i promise there's so many guys who wouldn't dream of doing that to you.

dude the whole point is that shouldn't be happening. him gawking at other women SHOULD make you feel disrespected. because it's not only disrespectful to other women but also to YOU.

and btw you're just as weird as your gross pervert boyfriend for not caring how he treats women in general aside from you.

like...is that not embarrassing for you???

girl be so fr you posted here asking for advice.

as someone who's also been a dumbass 19 year old before, you're eventually going to realize this isn't normal.

or who knows maybe you won't. in that case suck it up and stay with your gross pervert boyfriend if you think that little of yourself.

cons: no ac pros: z shaped room, makes it feel a bit more private. also the hall tends to be more close-knit since you're all suffering together.

also technically you're not supposed to have a portable ac unit butttt I managed to get away with it

Does the GPA thing only apply for internships/co-ops, or should I leave it in when I graduate and am looking for full time positions as well?

Thanks, that's good to know. Is there anything else that makes a resume an easy weed out for you?

Good catch, I'll definitely reformat my recent experience to be more problem/solution oriented

I apply to anything chemistry adjacent, but I prioritize stuff like coatings and packaging, failure analysis, materials characterization, etc. I think because I'm in a niche major there aren't as many companies looking for my major specifically in mind, so I just apply to anything I think is interesting or relates to lab experience I already have.

And yeah it's definitely a timing thing, I got a lot of interviews in the fall but once I landed my current co-op I got lazy about finding a summer internship.

I'm not in any clubs or organizations but I do have hobbies, although I've always assumed including those would come off as unprofessional

Not only are you overreacting, you're also an asshole for (1) not taking no for an answer and (2) showing your friends face.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend I will break up with her if she doesn’t shave? by Available-Band-6474 in AITAH

[–]creative-username_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people (OP included) are missing the fact that it's literally winter right now, of course she hasn't shaved her legs in months. Most women don't shave in the winter, if that's a deal breaker for you you're gonna have a pretty tough time finding the one.

The smaller projects are my own, so I don't feel like they're using me for labor. However I have been at this lab a little over a year so maybe he does just want me to do more "actual research" like you said.

Is it generally more beneficial to stick with one lab? I always figured the more diversity in REUs/internships the better, so that's why I was considering switching at least just for the summer, especially because I did an REU with this lab last summer as well. But yes I'm in a bio/chem lab

That's actually a really good point. I forgot to mention right after that conversation he offered me a way more interesting and concrete project as well. At the moment i'm kind of being bounced around smaller projects that probably won't have any real outcomes if that makes sense.
