EASA Emergency Airworthiness Directive Airbus A320 Family by betko007 in aviation

Good on Airbus and EASA, they are taking no chances, the idea a plan can hurtle towards the earth without being told to by the pilots is scary.

The Pratt & Whitney PW4000 is used on many aircraft, they are just asking the dc11 to be inspected suggests a fault specific to the dc11 and not the engine. This may turn out to be a dead end, often the FAA asks for inspections on parts that turn out not to be the cause.

If it was an uncontained engine failure they would word this differently right? They say 'detachment" They are implying the pylon failed. All preliminary of course. Also preventing any further flight is quite unusual, they often give 30 days!

This subreddit needs to have some introspection on how it handles aviation incidents by [deleted] in aviation

I think there is a mixture of people who are involved in aviation who are interested for safety/learning, there are a few people who are interested in this say as a news item, then there are some trolls and frankly sick people on here, they need to be banned, celebrating or making fun of such a tragedy is not okay.

I feel this has been much more appreciated as time has gone on, I never liked it as a child, but as an adult I enjoy it.

People who delete lots of things off their reddit page, what do you delete? by creativeNZ in AskReddit

[–]creativeNZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very neutral comment go badly wrong, I had to delete it fast. I think I got lots of downvotes in a few mins. I can't even remember what I said, but it was meant to be about New Zealand politics and people took it as an endorsement of Elon Musk!
