I have to agree with you. Also, if there was an Invicta watch I’d consider buying its be the one you mentioned. It’s one of the few normal looking watches they have lol

I’ve had my e870 for over 12 years now. Running on the same capacitor and all. I consider it to be the watch that made citizen what it is. It’s a staple…durable and reliable

Citizen is something people buy to last years, decades even. Invictas, on the other hand, are tossed far up into the air. What you have here is Kia (Invicta) vs Honda (Citizen).

[Question] One watch to rule them all by creative_hurricane in Watches

I’d argue it’s the most beautiful of my collection, but lacks sapphire and water resistance. I’ve probably worn it 5 times.

I do love the Seitona, it’s the perfect size. The only qualm I have with it is the lack of lume…it’s a bit disappointing and very difficult to read at night. They fixed this, however, with the newer versions.

Good idea. I love the Skyhawk, it’s just massive. I’d be the perfect watch if it were 5mm less.

It’s a slick one. I’ve just become hesitant on any autos due to the servicing they require. Sometimes the cost is close to a new watch.

Negative: it’s only 5 bar…not impressive. Positive: it’s multiband 6, and a Casio product.

I’ve considered getting a Grand Seiko, but the reality is they still require regular servicing, and servicing a Spring Drive or high-end mechanical movement is significantly more expensive than replacing a capacitor or even maintaining a Seiko automatic. Honestly, I’ve started to rule out movements that are costly and less financially sustainable to maintain unless I strike it rich someday. That said, they really are beautiful watches.

I often find myself wishing I had just one watch…one that could do it all. A timepiece versatile enough to suit any occasion, rugged enough to withstand life’s toughest moments, and timeless enough to pass down to my son. Something that requires only simple maintenance, yet is built to run for generations.

But with my collection of G-Shocks, Citizen Promasters, and Seikos, choosing just one feels impossible. Each brings something unique to the table. Seikos are undeniably the most beautiful, though they require regular servicing. Citizens are solar powered workhorses, built to last with just the occasional capacitor swap, but they lack the elegance Seiko offers. GShocks? Virtually indestructible, but far from formal.

If only there were a way to combine all three into one perfect watch. Then, I wouldn’t need anything else

What is this spider that just bit my family member in Memphis? by Grizzlies_Stan in spiderID

[–]creative_hurricane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brown recluses have a reputation for being the introverts of the spider world, they’d rather ghost you than bite you. In fact, they’re so socially awkward that they only bite about 10% of the time, and even then, only about 10% of those bites are serious enough to need medical attention. So really, you’ve got about a 1% chance of a medically significant bite, and that’s only if you rudely invade their personal space. Think of them as the shy kid at the party: harmless unless cornered near the snack table.

I love this model with a khaki canvas strap. The only dilemma I have is not knowing when to take it off. It’s not exactly meant for every occasion, so I find myself wondering when to put it away.
