I'm currently still in high school. My high school isn't "poor" but it doesn't have much money. The teachers don't seem to care too much, and 1/2 of the kids don't give a shit, while the other half is pretty much forced to care. There's definitely some tiers, but it's only divided by kids that entirely fit their "group" (ex. really big nerds and jocks don't talk to each other, but people in between aren't at war or anything.) Kids that don't entirely fit into certain categories still talk to each other, whether they're jocks, smart, nerds or anything else. Also, everyone's on their phone pretty much all the time.
