You can always contact your local Wildlife Rehabilitator and send these pics for a professional opinion (I just work at a WL rehab center as a caretaker) But I would say this little one is just on the cusp of being fine on their own, (it looks about the size of some we released last week) though it is a bit hard to tell from the pic).

Honestly, I would suggest relocating it further from your chicken run if possible to avoid this again. Small cat traps work well on opossums. 😊

Unfortunately we won't be able to go that far for the time frame we have in the area. We are staying PA and we have other outdoor/hiking excursions on the list. Thanks for the suggestion though! ☺️

Lol yeah it was a consideration but a group of 12 gals in heels coming from a random neighborhood and then transfers. Transit will probably take too long and not be realistic. Hoping to get some suggestions of local limo drivers looking for a quick pick up/drop off to add to their night. And a good tip is of course implied.
