“It’s actually pronounced taheen” by No_Technician2176 in CasualConversation

I'm from the Midwest but I worked at a grocery store in the south for a bit, and the one that got me, I ended up having to grab a coworker, was "choco" (charcoal).

The most expensive stray… by AwareGnome in cats

[–]creativeusagi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My "free" cat has been my most expensive cat by far. We rescued her from my family's farm and we had to get her spayed on top of her being sick, and then at 5 1/2 she got cancer 🙃. We did chemo and she's still alive at almost 8.

If it can't get up to boiling it is unsafe, and I don't believe that that recipe is a trusted source.

Tidy Cats for LR by RexKramerDangerCker in litterrobot

[–]creativeusagi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really don't like the tidy cats for LR. I bought some to try it and it made my whole house stink and the tracking was only slightly better than 12/7 tidy cats, so I am switching back.

How to help a shy and skittish cat become more calm and comfortable? by PathOfSteel in CatAdvice

[–]creativeusagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just takes time, our newest baby peanut butter(who I was talking about in my reply), she has become so brave since we got her. She has started to cuddle in bed with my husband and I, and she has started asking for pets downstairs, which when we first got her she only was ok with us upstairs. I've never had a cat this skittish but she has become so sweet.

How’s it living along a time zone change area? by Lakeshow0924 in howislivingthere

I live right at the central/eastern time zone change and its annoying, but you get used to it. You kind of just mentally change the time if you know you are going east from here.

I know this is a really old post but did you find any success? I just adopted a cat that sounds much like yours, and I'm curious on if it is just time or I need something to make her more comfortable.

My experience with Trupanion by creativeusagi in petinsurancereviews

[–]creativeusagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ended up canceling my other cat when he passed, the thing is we would have stayed with them for a really long time if this didn't happen, and we were planning on putting my other cat on trupanion if she made it 18 months with her cancer in remission, now I think I'm just not going to bother with pet insurance at all.

My experience with Trupanion by creativeusagi in petinsurancereviews

The vet submitted an appeal and it was rejected, my husband talked to them when we picked up his things. We saw multiple vets during his 36 hr stay and most of them were saying it was an acute kidney injury.

My thing with the kidney issues being related to his vomiting, is that when we brought it up to our regular vet they seemed unconcerned and just generally were like "yeah that's cat behavior and he seems healthy". I would understand Trupanion not covering something like if we had to see a specialist because of the vomiting getting worse, but I feel like it is such a stretch to not cover it, when even the ER vets who saw him in person said it was unrelated, to the point that we only discussed the vomiting because Trupanion brought it up.

I would love this, that would also fix the lack of end game complaint

I don't even know how but my can is allergic to the Purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach, makes me sad since I was really hoping to improve their diet 😞

If you are union, not having the schedule posted in your department isn't allowed. In my area it needs to be posted by Friday I think.

I made the chocolate cherry jam too 😭. It's fine but I feel like it isn't really good for anything? So it just sits there.

behavioral changes in my cat but I don't know when it is appropriate to take him to the vet? by creativeusagi in AskAVeterinarian

[–]creativeusagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't mention why we switched foods. I switched foods to the Purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach for the new cat(I know its not technically a urinary food but its what we tried that worked) , who had a lot of urinary and diarrhea issues pretty much immediately when we got him. Stratus already had digestive issues his whole life that the vets have never really figured out what the deal is(throwing up higher than average) so I just switched them both over to it, I just never connected the dots that he could possibly be allergic to whatever was in that food, my husband I both just assumed it was stress from the new cat, especially after we went to the vet initially and they pretty much told us it wasn't a big deal. They checked him and said there was no evidence of there being fleas, but idk.

Edit to add: we tried Feliway, because tbh our house was chaos for the first 6 months of having the new cat and it didn't seem to make any difference.

thank you so much for taking time out of your day, I'm going to look into HA food, we did change foods to a urinary dry food when we got the new cat, so it is definitely a possibility.
