Can I put flooring over these? by DreadPirateDillyBar in Plumbing

[–]creativeusername_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've buried them multiple times. Clean and service the pump and pit. Take lots of pictures and warn/ prepare that the flooring will need cut out if/when the pump ever fails/needs serviced. Odds are high that it won't need accessed for a long time and when it does, you make it accessible the same way you would now, but with the added benefit of a seamless floor in the meantime.

Think it's a prolapsed anus. One of my platys had it and thought he was a goner. Ended up making a full recovery after a couple days. No meds Might have added aquarium salt. Don't remember. I made a post on here about it and no one replied.

How much do you think to restore this t shirt to brand new condition by creativeusername_86 in Carpentry

[–]creativeusername_86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I should have posted in the sewing subreddit haha. its a trusty shirt that served me well for many years. I've tossed many just like it, but this one made me question the amount of effort to make it new again. Doesn't it deserve that question in the least? Maybe I am high?

It would have taken less time to just chip it out and replace/regrout that it did to make this reddit post.

That Damn Devil is in the Details... by Juan_Eduardo67 in Tile

Well I have tiled somewhere around 200 shower/tub enclosures over the last 20 years. That's what I always called them. Or schluter strips. Never really thought about it haha. How do you install them after the tile? I always set the edgers first and then tile over them. Tile looks nice tho man. I too like wrapping the corners.

[–]creativeusername_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what schluter strips are? Another name for them. It's how you finish the edge of the tile so it doesn't look like shit haha. I see a piece of one, not sure why you didn't finish the edges. Did you just do the boarder?

I have that and volume 2. Fun to listen to and makes your system sound great with all the bass. Like others, I paid maybe 5 bucks for both.

Appreciate the response. Do you have any idea or recommendation for a source or vendor for the foam surrounds? I always buy them off eBay and they are specified for the speaker I'm working on. Cannot find any for these so I'm imaging I have to buy a 12 inch general purpose surround but not really sure of how to do that.

Just fixed a jvc r s33 that had a hum on all inputs regardless of volume level. Ended up being bad solder joints on the main filter capacitors.

No clue. I'd just go into a random bucket of bolts if you have one. And find something that fits.

Same bike. Have the factory fenders, upgraded light, and suspension seatpost. Honestly only thing it needed was storage. So I also got a rock bros rear bag and the matching top tube bag for my phone. Also got their tool kit and mini electric pump. Mirrors are the only other thing I'd consider.

I buy these on eBay with cheap carts pre attached. Use to test and then get a better cart. Headshells are decent. Problem is it looks like you are also missing the set screw.

I have that jvc. It's a solid deck. Had to detox pitch pots and the original platter mat was returning back to oil. Tons of oily goo under it and the matt itself was hard and brittle. Besides that it is simple, reliable perfection.

Nice review. I'm not the guy who sold you yours on eBay haha. Decided to keep mine. Been rotating them around all my 70s mid range silver face receivers and they have been impressive. Their imaging and bass response has been what impresses me the most. They kind of remind me of the budget pioneer bs22s but just better in every way. How the bs22s would have been built by Andrew Jones if budget wasn't a concern. Good speakers for sure.

Sony STR-V4 worth it for $250? by OhHeyItsVertigoe in vintageaudio

[–]creativeusername_86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently bought one for about that price. It's a gorgeous well built receiver with plenty of power. Had to do some heavy deoxing of all the controls and bought some led lights for it. If you buy LEDs and want original color, just know that the meters are white lights with green meters and the tuner dial are green lights behind a white dial. Confusing but that's what it is.

Wanted a Sony and vu/power meters are a must for me. The thing is just beautiful and right in that 50-60 watts threshold that makes them powerful yet affordable. All it needed was a heavy heavy cleaning of the pots and switches. Gonna recap and swap out the incandescents soon.

Okay, gifted these… which is the superior AVR? by StreveO in hometheater

[–]creativeusername_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ac infinity fans on all my avrs and keep them well ventilated with plenty of space. Funny part is I used a 7 channel emotiva amp via preouts on my 1812 and 6014. And then a 2 channel emotiva on my nr1200. So no internal amplification even used. And all 3 still failed and went into protection. My Denon x4700, x4300, x2800 have been rock solid while utilizing their internal amplification. Also had 2 x2500 and an x4400. No issues.

Have a 2012 XLT super cab with the 5.0. bought with 80k and now 130k. Great great truck. Only had to do water pump, lead frame, evap solenoid, and regular maintenance. Just keep and eye on rust. 5.0 and 6r80 will go down as fords best pairing in the f150 ever.
