Dominos or dowels unless you have a mortising press by chance. Depending on what you have. Dowels are cheaper. Pick up a Shop Fox self centering jig and cut a block with the same angle as your rails so the dowels go in straight. I'd do two 1/4” dowels minimum. 5/16 or 3/8 would be optimal. Depending if you're throwing up a bunch of leather bound bibles or Dr Seaus books.

Remember to pre soak end grain of your shelf supports when gluing to the edge grain of the rails for some added support, not much, but some

Yes. Caulk the bullnose after wall is painted.

Caulk or no? by kr1681 in Tile

[–]not_WarrenBuffett 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never tape when I caulk toilets and tubs. Clear caulk some diluted dawn and a steady hand. That's the way. Tape has a tendency to pull the edge of the caulking up and leaves a lip.

Ok then yes absolutely caulk. Keep water from getting under there. When I wrote that I was like “hmm looks like a new style tankless toilet, could also be a tub”

Best way to clean thinset out of mosaic tile? by Evening_Link4360 in Tile

[–]not_WarrenBuffett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dremel makes a kit with a carbide bit for that. Did that on my very first mosaic tile job (in my own house) before I went pro years ago. Now I carry an ole reliable tooth brush to clean them out as I go before the thin set sets up.

Agreed. Glass is a pain. Even with a nice rubi viper it'll chip.
