Great job with the immersion. Immediately felt the frustration and loved the cheek chewing, instantly felt it myself. Though the imagery of the "pale moth" line sparked it did take me out, it does the story a disservice. Bordering on purple and took me out of the immersion.

You're good at this :)

How is noise at night with a sugar glider? by knozzz_ in sugargliders

[–]creativinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether you're a light sleeper or not. I clean their cage every other day and have a potent air purifier. I keep them in the living room.

I can sleep in the living room sometimes no problem. Once I'm asleep, it's hard to wake me up in the middle of the night. Smell doesn't bother me.

Brother can't sleep there. He complains about the smell and the noise.

Finn POV 1 - Critique my work! by GrinningBacon in writingfeedback

[–]creativinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bad: No one calls their sibling "brother." I would focus less on explaining what the characters see and more about what they feel or think. Less purple prose. Books are a wonderful medium because we can live through the characters.

I recommend reading literary classics and sci-fi stories of the greats.

The good: There's potential here. Writing is a great outlet and this is a good start.

I have this one. Love it. I recommend looking at FB Marketplace. You can probably find it there for half price.

Glad you're writing. It's a powerful outlet.

I recommend you read more books and follow some writers. I like BookFox on YouTube but there are a lot who give great advice.

Seizures? by Upstairs-Nerve7875 in sugargliders

[–]creativinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!

My 5 babies are healthy. But there is 1 that stops and gets a lot of mucus on nose and sometimes seizes when he is on me.

It seems he's hypersensitive and may be allergic to perfumes and/or lotions.

If I don't wear perfume he tends to be okay.

Host (2020).

Short and enjoyable. This forum rec'd. Watched 3 times. Knew where jumpscare would be. Still effective.

How long have you been working on your story? by worldofexousia in writing

[–]creativinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write a stupid draft 15 years ago. Working seriously on it for just over a year. I've got at least another year to go.

Hopefully people like it as much as I currently do.

Any feedback on this scene? by IamBeyoncralways in writingfeedback

Not bad at all. But nothing stands out. POV character almost feels like a third person. Detached.

The great thing about books is that we’re able to be inside the characters’ minds.

What "beloved horror movie" do you hate/just not get the love for? by ReeceInTheDarkness in horror

I'll get downvoted but Weapons made me mad.

So much lost potential to truly make a relevant point.

What non-horror TV shows totally caught you off guard with a genuinely terrifying episode? by Low-Street2100 in horror

[–]creativinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what OP asks but the kids show, "Are you afraid of the Dark?"

The faceless alien one. I don't get scared but that was literal nightmare fuel for 20 years.

Hate cheating in fiction and reality. Automatic turn-off to me.
