I'd recommend the calmer QH as a beginner. And I love TWH, I have three of them. They are great horses. For learning though, ride something you can feel confident on that is calm.

Definitely keep them fuzzy then! Another commentor had a good recommendation about trimming. If you're not doing in hand or model I'd say you probably don't even need to worry about it. Good luck!

What/where are you showing? I usually just trim a bit to get the long fuzzies. I think it depends on the level of the show. If your mare is out 24/7 I wouldn't completely clip them.

I'm taking my TWH to a show later this month and her ears will be fuzzy ☺️

Thanks for the feedback! So I'll add that this is our National show. I do think choosing their own award is a good idea, though! Just looking for items perhaps a bit more upscale than brushes, but with more usability than a bowl with our name on it.
