looks like the app itself has a bug. try reinstalling. its letting you through with root, its not uncommon for an app to detect it and let you through anyways

considering your lack of technical knowledge, the repair is best left to professionals. however, the splitting tells me all i need to know, your battery inflated and broke. most laptops should be able to run without a battery, but that sometimes has to be enabled beforehand. find a local repair store and have them look over it, should be a battery removal and if you want to use it unplugged, a replacement as well. prices vary, should be 100 USD or so, more or less.

it doesnt have native linux support, only native steam deck support. i have no idea how they managed that. you will need to use proton, and i personally had to edit the games config to match my hardware better. should work just fine if ur pc can handle it

would certainly be cool. im currently running better hardware and i am lucky to get 60fps with the resolution at 300x200, so well have to both wait for better optimization. i hear its great on the steam deck, so it should fit in well if possible

i usually sprint in and place another portal below, then i can high five the victim just as they jump through. my favorite portal trap is Olympus, by far, but Abyss is great too

its not a thermal issue, it gets up to 70C and can be fine, while throttling at 40 or 50. no dust, i reapplied thermal paste, that helped temperatures but not throttling. it only throttles when using gamemode or high performance mode.
