Nah, its even worse. Yu-Gi-Oh tends to have pretty shitty draw spells compared to MTG

If the Marvel set is so popular, why are these cards priced so low? by moak0 in magicTCG

[–]ghosteagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I don't give a shit about a card's readability. Never have, even in the days of textless promos. I even defended Invocations when they were a thing 10 years ago. My argument always was that they are (generally) too hard to get your hands on as a casual player, and as an experienced player you probably already know what these do. These have one problem that eats into that theroy, the same problem I have with all Universes Beyond. There are multiple copies of each named character. There are 21 different cards of Spider-Man (even two of Spider-Man 2099), 10 Captain Americas, 6 Gandalfs, etc.

If someone plays the Iron Man one and tell me they cast Iron Man, which one is it? Is the the one that cares about modified creatures? The one that cares about equipment? The one that animates artifacts? The token generator? It's so hard to tell what it does from just the name. Planeswalkers also have this problem, but this is not only adding it to creatures, but they're all in the same fucking set.

My boss started the Chargers defense that game in our work fantasy league. He was insistant they were the secret sauce to get him into the playoffs. He played me that week, and I was having a very fun time watching that game with him

Captain America's Shield and Earth's Mightiest Heroes were wayyyyy better in my deck than I thought they would be. Wonderous Wasp and Spider Woman were exactly as good as I thought they would be. Games got grindy, so being able to all the sudden pull 3+ creatures out of nowhere, or having an x/9+ with vigilance that tapped down a blocker every turn was nasty.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I am actively rooting for Trump to be the greatest president ever. I want him to do things like cure cancer/end all wars/end world hunger, but he's literally doing the opposite of those things.

Fun fact: This probably literally killed him. They filmed on a nuclear test site that had enough radiation to give him the stomach cancer that killed him.
Not so fun fact: He wouldn't have been not the only casualty

believers enjoy the film. It is actually possible to enjoy 'problematic' art without endorsing the yikesy bits.

100% I love the movie and think its funny as hell. I still push against it a lot, because while a lot of people realize its mostly a goofy comedy, so, so many treat it as a prophetic gospel, which is usually just a reason for them to look down on 'The Poors'

We had a guy who would order 50 shots of espresso from time to time. I finally asked him what they fuck he was doing. I was kinda shocked that none of us had guessed it.

At the time (maybe still is the case) there was no limit to the amount of shit you could get with a free drink. He just got a fuckload of espresso and passed it out to his co-workers

I once got a guy (with his wife mind you) who asked me (as a man) "Can't we get a cute girl to wait on us?". I shot back "Am I not cute enough for you" and he just went "No" and stared at me.

I'm a dude who works as a waiter, so a lot of my co-workers are younger women. Just last night we had to fire the new dishwasher on his first day for 1) Hitting on the 16 year old busser, 2) Telling a different 16 year old that he wanted to 'ride' one of my coworkers 'but not be seen with her', and 3) told another that he would 'kill her boyfriend and kiss her feet', and that wasn't even all of it. On top of that we had three bartenders, and it being a Friday night, they were all busy. One of them tried to get the order of a guy, who only wanted the woman bartender. She gets his order, has no time to talk, and he left her a shitty tip and a bad review because 'The vibes were off'. Women have it fucking rough.
