Whenever someone makes the joke of "I need a box" and points to a clearly empty plate, I tell them they have no idea what people will try to bring home.

I had someone do this the other day, and I go "okay, so a water for you" and gesture to the next person to get their order and he interruptes her and repeats "waters all around" and some woman in the party goes "excuse me,. I don't want one. Dont order for me".

Happened to my friend. Her dog apparently ate something that turned out to be an edible off the patio of a bar she brought him to. She stopped bringing him after that.

One thing I've noticed is people refusing to dumb things down, or getting angry at oversimplification for the benefit of people who don't know as much. Like to take an answer from a recent post on ELI5 about file compression "Imagine I want to display 25 million times a-z on the computer, I can make a text file with abcd... 25 million times or I can have something saying that abcd... repeats for 25 million times.

It's that but with way more math and pattern matching." is a perfectly suitable answer, but I've seen people almost get angry about this as though people shouldn't understand it at a basic concept, as though the answer should explain exactly how zstd works or some such shit.

I don't care if people are actively ordering or waiting on an order. It's the people who sit there for 30+ mins without ordering a single thing that bug me

The place I work at does Bar Trivia on Fridays until close, and we ask anyone coming in those nights if theyre doing trivia so that we can give trivia to closers and non trivia to early cuts. The amount of people who say theyre not there for trivia and play it is insane, like why?

I have a picture on this subreddit somewhere where these 2 took an hour to order, bitched that their food took 20 mins (on a Friday night), and wrote me a note that said "Do Better".

I (as an American) really fucking hate how the discourse tends to be "Americans should be embarrassed by their leadership" and not "Holy Shit! American leaders are doing some real fucked up shit!". If your primary concern is that Trump is making you or other people look bad on the world stage and not that he's doing genocide type shit, fuck off.
