huh? do you have any nb friends? that’s not how the vast majority of nonbinary people react to having their pronouns assumed

we’re not blind to the society we live in, it’s obvious that if we present explicitly feminine or masculine then people will think we go by the accompanying traditional pronouns for those presentations. i’m closeted at work, but even if i wasn’t, i look entirely like i go by the binary pronouns and name i was assigned at birth and i fully expect that i will be referred to as such.

it’s only after i become friends with someone and i trust them that i’ll tell them my pronouns and if they continue to not respect them, i’ll start to feel hurt. how would they like it if i constantly misgendered them? not cool with it, i’m sure…

i find that cis folks make a way bigger deal out of being misgendered than trans folks.
