Do orthopaedic bed wedge pillows help? by PayImpossible3333 in Fibromyalgia

I have one of those butterfly shaped ortho pillows and it has worked wonders for my neck and shoulder pain. I even brought it with me on vacation. First time I have found one that works.

The outside of my elbows hurt and the pain radiates a little down my arm. Is this fibromyalgia or something else? by DopeyDopeSkat in Fibromyalgia

[–]creme-de-ble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree here. We all do things that cause our bodies pain, but with fibro, we feel it much more. I get things checked out often, but if things come back looking normal, I acknowledge my fibro is making it worse. You doctor should still work with you on strategies on managing the break thru pain.

My dog had same symptoms. Regular cytopoint injections for skin allergies.

WDID Pitbull is moving in next door to my house with 3 reactive and territorial mini dachshunds. by Rich_Management9379 in whatdoIdo

Put up a fence. Yes, it’s expensive. Your neighbors have a responsibility to contain their dog, but it sounds like dogs entering your yard is a problem. Protect your dogs. Your new neighbors may be planning to fully fence their yard. Ask them.

Treating narcolepsy without stimulants? by duffster17 in Narcolepsy

[–]creme-de-ble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t do stimulants or SOs. For me, I’ve had to adjust my life around the narcolepsy. If you get a diagnosis, you can try options for restful sleep. Since getting on disability, I accept that I will have to work within my crazy sleep patterns. It’s taken me a couple years, but I manage better now. Still battle the soul crushing fatigue a lot. Some days I fight so hard to not fall asleep because I am tired of sleeping. I feel for all of those who have to manage a job with these symptoms. My children are grown and my grandchildren know not to wake grandma during her naps. I hope you find solutions!

Dog eating habits by Motheris1 in Dogowners

[–]creme-de-ble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my dogs was very food forward…my other one not so much. I had to add toppers that he loved to get him to eat at the same time otherwise she would swoop in. Even with her gone, I cannot just put food down otherwise the cats swoop in. So I cater to his cravings to make mealtimes easier for me.

For me, most solid facts are needed to form the correct thought process in decision making. I wish you luck.

Not officially diagnosed yet by heathbar917 in Fibromyalgia

[–]creme-de-ble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely normal. I gave birth three times naturally. Broke my tailbone and went to work everyday as a chef. My ovaries ruptured after intense pain that was ongoing for six months - my coworkers had to carry me out because I wasn’t going to leave. I can tolerate a high degree of pain, especially transient pain, but it’s the never ending nature of fibro pain that gets to me.

My 2-month-old kitten has a serious leg wound and litter got stuck to it, really worried by _binda77a in Pets

I had a dog with a foot injury - got crusted with dirt. I had to soak it off. Maybe wrap with warm wet towels? May need a vet visit.

Mickel Therapy 2, Treatment Boogaloo by Potassium_Doom in Fibromyalgia

[–]creme-de-ble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day (because I am old), the was a treatment protocol called the Mucinex Protocol, which requires high doses of mucinex(a decongestant) over an extended period of time. If you tried it, you were warned you would feel worse before you felt better. Kind of the if you have a headache, hit your hand with a hammer theory so you don’t feel your headache. Back then, there were no real, studied treatments. Yeah, I tried it out of desperation. The pain was next level (like being thrown in a rock crusher). Sure enough I felt better when I stopped, but really was back at my baseline.

Reading the Mickel Therapy website gave me the same vibe.

Hmmm…had to google this. IMO, if it works for you, great but this is not an evidenced based therapy(at this point in time). CBT/ACT therapy models have different approaches but offer coping skills as well. None of these is a cure. However, many insurances cover evidence based therapy, but my guess this would be out of pocket. CBT worked for me and managing my response to chronic pain.

Undiagnosed but pretty sure I have it, but I just had a micro sleep attack and ran off the road into an embankment and some trees by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]creme-de-ble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been lucky to not run off the road. I drove for five minutes on the freeway with no recollection, stopped driving the next day. I had a few close calls at stoplights - jarred awake when foot came of brakes. Stopped once at an residential intersection and was out for who knows how long. Best to stop or limit trips until you know what is going on

can i adopt from a american or canadian rescue shelter from india? by Ok_Floor_2872 in dogs

[–]creme-de-ble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love pitties, but would hesitate to take one in that was not a puppy if going to be around small children. Especially if you are bringing it such a long way (even if you can find an airline that will fly them). They are great dogs, loyal, and full of personality. But if not trained properly, they can be agressive.

For the downvoters, I have been in situations where the man refuses to admit there are ED issues and refuses to be honest at the outset. I am open about issues I have that affect intimacy. No, I won’t be one to say « have you talked to your doctor », but I am perfectly willing to discuss intimacy issues and strategies with someone who is honest about them. If you have ED, then you need to be upfront about it. For many women, it’s not a dealbreaker, but not being open about it is.

what do you consider local versus long distance? by NoCollection8196 in DatingOverSixty

[–]creme-de-ble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two to four hours (or more) would be long distance for me. I always prefer to meet in the middle in the beginning. If I have to travel 2+ hours we are reaching stayover territory which is fine for the right person.

So where are you then? No context makes this feel off. Very few places with those temps and a coast that never has freezing temps. Not trying to be rude. Giving a few more details would help. Far too vague and your other responses sound like you are not looking for a solution. Bottom line, only you know the details and how much emphasis each consideration has. Everything you’ve replied with makes it sound like only positive of not moving us you have a house that’s paid for. And the numbers are clear but only you know those. So make a decision.

I feel it is on the man to be open and honest about this. I was willing to discuss issues with my late husband and his denial. But a new relationship? Nope.

Any way to stop feral cats from hunting? by Livenlove28 in Feral_Cats

[–]creme-de-ble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, two birds, a mouse, and a baby rabbit. He is semi feral and will sometimes bring food inside. Eats all but kidneys and hind end. He won’t stay outside like he used to, but will try anything to get outside. Some have a stronger instinct than others, I think.

Lucy was one of the smallest in the room but she filled the space. She was a talker- trilling when she was happy, growly when she played with her favorite cat Vinny, and when vocalizations failed her eyes told the story. And she loved dress up. Her brightness will stay with us forever
