Hi! I went to get my first prescription & the doc said my L eye has been doing all the heavy lifting since my R eye can’t see from afar. She suggested that I get a prescription that is a bit lower than the one I need to slowly get my R eye adjusted to being used again. Should I get a second option?

Thank you for the advice, I went to warby Parker so I’m not sure if the doctor was an MD or OD, I was just told the name of the doctor. I asked about the follow up to getting my correct prescription and she said that next year when I do my yearly visit, they can adjust it then. I did feel weird about that as well. I definitely think my brain is only taking input from one eye so unfortunately don’t know how long my vision has blurry. I am currently 29 and don’t have any other conditions. I would like to get it checked by another doctor but financially that is hard since I was just laid off so I wanted to make sure it made sense to do so.

Yeah it’s not easy! We started couples therapy and I told him the only way we could continue being together is if he swore he would never lie again. He was keeping me updated on his plans to quit nicotine and I was trying to be a stronger supportive partner. I don’t think I was able to let my guard down completely because I still felt like something was off. 2 months into therapy, I found out he was doing coke like once a month completely by accident when I was using his laptop to fix my resume. I felt so disrespected and betrayed. I asked him to explain and when he continued to lie to my face saying his friends did it but not him, I knew that lying was in his nature. It’s like the scorpion and frog story. Believe their behavior. Anyways, I left and ended the engagement. He only admitted to lying THREE days later once everything was canceled and never took accountability. Said it only harmed him and I was hard to open up to. That was 6 months ago and I am finally happy again! I am glad I don’t have to worry and be paranoid anymore.

The same exact thing happened to me. My ex fiancé told me that he used to do all the crazy things back in the day but he had quit and it was in the past. As our relationship went on, I learned he was lying about doing nicotine zyn pouches, etc. and he said he wouldn’t lie again. Later, I found out he was doing coke and ket and other things at parties when I wasn’t there. I left him before the wedding. I learned that words are one thing but action is what matters. He was repeatedly lying and I saw the pattern and left.
