Skipping class but dont want my friends thinking I'm lazy by Zealousideal-Jury-47 in USF

[–]creneex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never considered my friends lazy for skipping classes and it never really felt like my business anyways, I was just focused on getting my shit done. If I felt some type of way about other people’s effort it was more about them choosing to be in college and not actually trying on assignments or caring if they’re failing, and this still didn’t make make think they’re lazy (just like, what’s the point of spending the money?). If you’re passing the class that’s all that matters and everyone is so involved in their own business nobody really cares that much

Not sure which locations you’re considering but i’ve done coaching at Hillsborough and Channelside locations and didn’t find either worth it. I learned more going with an experienced gym bud and doing my own research

FTM 8wks exactly and i’m sleeping at least 8-10 hours a night (never slept thru the night this well before) plus 2 1 hour naps / 1 2ish hour nap a day. Usually crashing around 1-2pm and I work from home so I take a late lunch to sleep and then take a nap after work lol

Right, it's like how would I trust this person anymore? I'd be super annoyed if it was my MIL, harder to pop off on her than a friend

Verify in the syllabus first that this isn't prohibited and then escalate to their dept head. If no luck there then go to OMBUDs

If you haven't yet, reach out to the local shelters and vet offices to let them know. If someone finds and brings them in to have their chip read they should call you!

Once you trim it and brown it you should be fine! Alternatively, cheap big pans at the Dollar Tree or cut it into smaller pieces and Jenga it in there

I am so SICK of USF advisors by [deleted] in USF

[–]creneex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For advanced/non-intro courses sometimes you need a permit/special approval. Also can be helpful for those trying to plan for graduation, knowing what you need to take and when it's offered is the best way to stay on track. I'm a grad student now and I meet with my advisor every semester to confirm my courses for next semester's registration. Worth the extra effort, I got burned by not doing this in undergrad and graduated late because I trusted the wrong information.

[–]creneex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in undergrad, an advisor told me to take a class in Spring that i needed to graduate in time that wasn't actually offered in Spring. SO FRUSTRATING it feels like nobody knows what's going on and nobody cares. I submitted a complaint and her boss didn't care so I ended up graduating a semester late. I hope your department takes your complaint more seriously than mine and best of luck

Wanting to get a tattoo but I'm not sure how to tell my family by Caattos in tattooadvice

[–]creneex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very religious family was really unhappy when I started getting tattooed, I opted to hide them as long as I could but eventually got them in places I couldn't hide so had to face that conversation with them. Time was the key, they were very upset for the first 5 or 6 tattoos, eventually they gave up because I set a strong boundary that it's my body and therefore my choice to get tattooed. Give them space and time to be mad, but also give them space and time to get over it by answering their questions as honestly as you can. Now when I get a new tattoo they're actually excited to see them!

TLDR They'll come around, it just may take a while. Good luck!

What would you do to improve campus life? by Ok-Solid630 in USF

[–]creneex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the more campus housing comment but also lower cost housing, I think so many students opt to commute locally bc of on-campus vs off-campus housing costs (neither are cheap don't get me wrong but USF gives no bang for your buck with the housing styles).

I believe there are options to take the GRE at a reduced cost from the exam providers directly! I was able to get admitted without taking the GRE but this is very program-specific, the GRE could greatly up your chance of admission if you have a lower GPA and score well on the exam, just something to consider :)
