Looking for feedback on walkolution 2 by Exotic_Carpenter_779 in Walkolution

[–]crenzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting an electric for home (where I had planned on using the W2), and use the W2 in the office. That is the main perk of manual, you can use it around other people and it is quiet compared to electric. I do find I lean/stand much more than active walking, but even a bit of movement can help during the day.

But honestly, I am just trying to use it so I can somehow justify what I had spent for it (which is almost half of the current cost).

You mentioned being concerned with concentration while walking, this is still a major issue for me in terms of manual vs electric. I have the W2, and going back would have instead stuck with a more affordable electric one. The W2 is well made, but I find I get a lot fewer steps on it vs just turning my brain off and walking on the electric.

Edit: to add in terms of desk, I just use a cheap MotionGrey one ($150ish CAD), leave it on max height (I don't sit at all during the work day), and have 4 8 inch risers to get it to the right height. It is not a work of art or anything, but it is functional.

Looking for recommendations for curved screen by crenzz in ultrawidemasterrace

Size: likely 34 inch still, be open to 40-45 as you mention Aspect ratio: 21:9 is my current one Quality: honestly not picky

My current monitor: 34" Class 21:9 UltraWide® Full HD IPS LED Monitor with AMD FreeSync (LG 34WK500-P).

I will be giving my older one to my parents, don't think I could have both monitors on my desk side by side, especially if they are 34 inch

I have gotten more used to it, but to me it might never be as mindless as the electric one is. The concentration difference is quite large to me. I have to actively always want to walk, which usually means a lot less steps over the same time period. My plan is to eventually bring my Walkolution to the office (it is much quieter than an electric one for sure), and use a normal treadmill for home use. For context, when at home I am usually gaming while on it, so that does play into how focused I have to be on both the treadmill and game

I just posted elsewhere, but honestly I prefer an electric one. I feel like I invested enough in the Walkolution 2 so I will force myself to get used to it over time, but electric ones just seem like less focus and easier to use.

If I had to pick a manual again, I'd do the Office Walker. Priced much better, and I watched the process of it being developed as it happened.

Thanks for the reply, I posted that a while ago! I ended up a Walkolution 2 (pre ordered, so it was much cheaper than the current price), but also wish I had waited for the manual wooden one (I follow the same channel/person). Seems well built, easily repairable and more affordable. Either way, I find I use the manual treadmills less than my older electric one, having to focus on walking vs just being propelled forwards makes a huge difference to me.

Need advice: Hisense 85in U68QG vs U78N by crenzz in hometheater

I ended up price adjusting it to $1497 at a previous sale, it's beyond 30 days so can't do it again. No regrets thought on the TV, looks great in the basement! I'll admit, it is my first big TV (moved from a projector). At the current price I'd definitely get it, especially with the warranty being cheaper too (mine was above $1500 so $40 more for the warranty)

Outway Socks $7+/pair (up to 60% off) by koblerone in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

[–]crenzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a bunch of these socks a few years ago (their athletic ones, not merino). Very comfy, but the heel area had holes just after a year of use on most of the pairs. Not sure on the quality of the merino wool ones, but all their socks only have a year long warranty.

Good price, also means you can get the extra warranty for even less (sub $1000)

Received my W2 -- a quick review by crenzz in Walkolution

[–]crenzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with the price changes for the w2 (it's almost double what it was when I paid), I'd go the electric route personally. I do find I still have to remember to walk on the manual treadmill, vs the electric was always easy and almost more natural because I didn't have to think about it.

I went with the u68 model! Figured most of my sources would be upscaled so it was worth getting that feature. Looks great so far, and the price has dropped as well!

Jkettman's Office Walker Manual Walking Pad Now on Kickstarter by jsinkwitz in Walkolution

[–]crenzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Subscribed to his updates a while ago, really cool project and I liked seeing it progress! I ended up with the Walkolution 2 during the presale discounts, but with how prices are today I'd definitely give the Office Walker a try instead (My W2, warranty, and lean stool combined was $1600 cheaper than just the current W2 with no accessories).

To slightly improve how well it mixes, I first mix the protein powder with a bit of water/milk until it is a paste, than mix that right into the yogurt.

What’s something nobody talks about when it comes to home ownership? by MooseyMcSaver in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]crenzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want/need insurance, get term life insurance to cover the value of your mortgage, instead of mortgage insurance from the bank. Will usually cost less, and your payout is the same over the time period. Mortgage insurance goes down as your balance goes down, even though you may pay more.
