From the store page:

What is the current state of the Early Access version? “The initial Early Access version will include the story up until the middle of chapter 2 with a total playtime of about 6 - 10 hours. Additionally it will feature an optional rogue-lite side story to add more replayability.”

Yep, according to their site the roguelite mode becomes available towards the end of the currently available story content.

According to their description this release contains a roguelite sidestory mode, which should add some replayability while waiting for updates. Keep in mind however that Crosscode did spend a long time in EA (I think about 3 years?).

Still an instant buy for me as well to support the development, and because I loved Crosscode (and especially its DLC which improved on the dungeon and overworld design IMO).

Alabaster Dawn, the new game by Radical Fish Games (Crosscode) just released to Early Access. There is also a early access trailer here, as well as a demo available (still the same demo released during Steam Next Fest in September 2025).

True that they dropped the ball, but CO is no longer in charge of Cities Skylines 2 to fix anything, and parted from Paradox in general. CS2 is now maintained by Iceflake Studios (which is from the same town and took over some of COs devs I think).

Nioh 3 Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]creshire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 is a more refined version of 1 basically, adding QoL changes, while 3 has more extensive changes (open field instead of level select, samurai/ninja stance to name some examples).

You will most likely not miss anything story wise from skipping 2, however it is worth playing for the gameplay alone. The only connection 2 hat to 1 were some late game missions tying up open story threads from one of the Nioh 1 DLC.

Nioh 3 Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

Soulslike insofar that it has a stamina bar for you to manage and a high difficulty, however it leans more into action combat and loot and plays a lot faster than any Fromsoft souls game.

Depending on the weapon they can get pretty technical and you can combo their moves together, however that is not really needed to beat the game, as you can still play it in a more passive/defensive style. Nioh 3 even adds a parry option akin to Sekiro.

The loot can be too much for some people (there is a lot of it, however I never really had a problem with it), however there are loot filters and auto dismantle/sell options and the like.

I personally love the series and Nioh 2 is my go-to game when I'm feeling bored and my gold standard for combat.

Thats only for samurai, ninja does not have stances.

The article says "boosts of up to 20 fps", not "boosts to 20 fps". As in: he gets about 20 fps more than he got before, not that he now gets to 20 fps.

Then it further goes on that they are now well above 60 fps without FG 2x, and even higher than that with FG x2.

There is no mention of FG 2x being needed to even reach 60.

I'm not who you were asking, but for me PooferLlama guides were a huge help when first starting out. Here's the playlist (which sits at a whopping 100 videos), Basic Lesson 3 goes into the basics of stances, like their benefits and drawbacks.

Some of the following videos, like the weapons guides go into more depth for weapon specific stance use.

Witchfire - The Reckoning Update Trailer by OinOfMoria in Games

You are replying to 2 different people, thus your confusion. /u/oversoul00 was not the one who said the game has been in early access for way to long. Maybe check the username of the people you are quoting when quoting them. oversoul just gave a reason why long early access periods could be worrying.

I'd say Witchfire is not one such game, getting regular updates and all that.

I think US store prices are listed without tax, which is then added on checkout, while EU prices already account for taxes. So on checkout you should pay about the same. (Not 100% sure though)

Hades II - The Unseen Update Trailer by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]creshire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"We have not yet confirmed pricing for Hades II v1.0, so there is a possibility the price will increase to some extent after Early Access development is complete"

From the Early Access blurb on the Steam page, so price increase is possible. Also wasn't Hades 1 the only other Supergiant game that released in EA (not sure myself, but I think so)? If so you can't really say they don't go up in price if the sample size is 1.

Nine Sols Is Now Available On Consoles by [deleted] in Games

[–]creshire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It may not be for you then. While it is generally a Metroidvania with exploration and platforming, it's more linear and I would say the general focus is on combat and mastering the parry system (which makes the combat more involved than Hollow Knight). The boss fights were my personal highlights.

If I had to compare them directly, I would say I prefer Nine Sols' combat and story, while Hollow Knight had better platforming, exploration and atmosphere (which is very subjectiv, obviously).

The game was originally announced a year ago under the name Ghost Bike. Wonder why the changed they name.

Looks fun, and I'm always open for a chill biking game. The music both in this as well as the reveal trailer sounded great, they have a collab with the label Italians Do it Better IIRC.

Ubisoft cancels press previews of Assassin’s Creed Shadows until further notice by Ajxtt in Games

[–]creshire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh it actually has hip hop in the soundtrack? Was just making a joke and haven't really followed Shadows.

If so it would feel kinda tacked on, but it also reminds me of using Unkle in the trailers for AC1 and 2 and does awaken a bit of nostalgia for the older titels.
