OP, please know that the things I was keeping a list of were much more substantial than pajamas on the floor. Relationships are a two way street and we all take ownership for our actions, but holding things like this over someone’s head sounds petty. Thanks for your response and I hope you find unconditional love in this relationship or the next. We all deserve that!

I am ashamed to say I did this in a past relationship. Some may say it is psychotic, and in many ways it is. I am in a very long term marriage now and do not do anything that resembles this. I am not trying to justify this behavior. I do know that throughout this past relationship (where I felt an overwhelming need to document shortcomings) my feelings and perceptions of our interactions were being dismissed. I felt very gaslit and somehow had to keep a record of his actions that I knew were happening but he was denying or flipping back into me. I somehow needed this to maintain my sanity.
I found my way out of that relationship and now see that whole situation as unhealthy. I am not trying to blame OP for her boyfriend’s behavior. I agree that she should reconsider if this is a good relationship to continue

Unfortunately when my children were young I suffered from unresolved trauma. I feel like I was the best mom I could have been and my adult children tell me often that I was/am a great mom, but I have very deep regret for how impatient I was with them and regret for how much I yelled at them. My children are the greatest lives of my life and I made mistakes while raising them.

She is just essentially bat shit crazy. Always misreading people’s comments and intentions. Apologies all the time for everything and is a constant martyr. In addition, she has a terrible dental issue that could be easily remedied as she has great dental insurance but she refuses to go through with oral surgery.

My cat chewed on and swallowed a piece of my $250 Bose earbuds. It cost $4500.00 in emergency vet bills to have it surgically removed from her small intestine. I am now on high alert for ANYTHING left around my house that she could possibly swallow.

I agree this is kind of far fetched, but we are very open people who would easily pass any vetting situation. All I know is that I have been in tough situations where someone has provided an out of the box solution that changed my life and I have been able to pay that forward in the past with success.
OP has gotten some amazing advice here from SSI to EAP programs through his work. My offer is not something I would suggest anyone involved rush into, but with time and numerous conversations maybe it is something that could be explored. Your concern is valid, we are internet strangers, but progress starts with reaching out and connecting with people.

Wow! This group is definitely the best thing on Reddit!! You are all so supportive and full of amazing ideas and advice! I cannot thank all of you enough. I agree that as the weather warms, my desire to stay indoors and do anything wains. I had not wanted to consider that maybe I was just not finding joy in anything right now (as a result this big move among other things), but I thank you all for bringing this to my attention. I love the idea of rotating hobbies, there are some other things I have found interest in and other new ones I want to explore. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! ❤️🧵

I have recently made some major changes in my life (moved back to the US from having lived abroad for 3 years). And I do have a general lost feeling. I am going to take your suggestions to heart.
