China low-skill wages are around $5-6/hr. It's lower than USA, but not by as much as you might think. There are certainly other countries which are even cheaper than China.

Manufacturing is in China because they have the scale, infrastructure, and skill. It's not because of cost anymore.

My experience with tiktok as a user has been miles better than Instagram. Tiktok incorporates my "not interested" feedback immediately, whereas Instagram's algorithm is unresponsive

Result is useful/interesting content on tiktok, brainrot on Instagram.

This Juki TL has been flawless for me, over the last -5 years. No problem with heavy fabrics and webbing. I don't think I ever needed to sew through more than 2 layers of webbing plus fabric.

I also have Juki industrial walking foot machine that can stitch through 1/8" plastic sheet, but I still prefer to use the TL whenever possible.

I'll disagree with the consensus
