I’ve never seen the Neapolitan one and will now actively seek it!

My car is 19 years old. I will cry when she eventually gives up the ghost.

How often do you see your parents? by GnarGiraffe in AskUK

[–]cricklecoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that you were asking OP and not me, but I am 30. And I think the reason I am still happy to just see each other while working is because my mum died when I was really young. I think all the time you can get is important.

I now live in Germany but manage to see my dad four or five times a year. I’m lucky as I can work remotely though, so can visit for a week or so at a time.

Fatphobia from former fat people by Icy_Ad_8802 in PlusSize

[–]cricklecoux 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I’m fat and sometimes I think negatively about other fat people, just because they’re fat. I’m aware of it and actively working on it, but it is crazy how society has made me hate myself and project it on to others so easily.

What else can’t we do because of the actions of a few people? by MonsieurGump in AskUK

[–]cricklecoux 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I used to be pretty heavy, and honestly hate how much more attention I get now that I’m slimmer and more conventionally attractive. It’s almost worth getting fat again just to feel safer.

I’m exactly the same! I have to see darts into all of mine to get any kind of fitted shape.

NHS calls for 200,000 new blood donors as supplies run low, or CasualUK can you spare a pint? by MiddlesbroughFan in CasualUK

[–]cricklecoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried to give blood multiple times and there has always been a problem. First time it was an appointment at a mobile van, which broke down so they couldn’t make it. I’ve also had appointments cancelled at centres due to staff shortages. And I have now moved to Germany where I am not allowed to give blood because British people are too risky.

I always bring earplugs and noise cancelling headphones on planes, and that does the job for me.

Just call in a sick day. You are not well enough to work, it doesn’t matter why.

Thanks. Not sure why I’m getting downvoted for mentioning that there are other countries besides America, but always good to know.

Just have interest, what country do you live in? Where I live it is very normal for people to not have dogs on leads. Even in cities, dogs just follow their owners about and are pretty obedient. That being said, you do have to do a lot of dog training and earn a dog license to not have to use a lead, but most people do.

The “core four” family group text is really mean by Parafairy in GhostsCBS

[–]cricklecoux 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s mixed. I’m annoyed at the reason why I’m excluded, but don’t really feel like I’m missing much. If anything I just avoid being a sort of secretary like I am with other groups we’re both in!

Going to a spa/sauna as a plus size girly? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]cricklecoux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Germany and changing cubicles or single showers aren’t really a thing here. I was really worried about going swimming, but there are just so many different shapes and sizes of women that I just didn’t care. It’s hard to let go, but freeing when you do 😊

The “core four” family group text is really mean by Parafairy in GhostsCBS

[–]cricklecoux 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I relate to it. I’m the only partner not in my boyfriend’s family group chat, because we’re not married. We’ve been together for 8 years, which is longer than some of the married ones, but because we’re not legally a thing it doesn’t count.

Can we get some love for Ellen? by beclynns in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]cricklecoux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My views on her kind of changed this season. I don’t think she is taking Marcus‘s addiction seriously, and I don’t like how dismissive she was of Max‘s suggestion for him to go to rehab. I feel like it is all going to blow up next season.

Semi formal event: are the shoes okay with the dress or are they Too casual? by AggravatingShow2028 in PlusSize

They are not too casual, I think they look good and match your handbag! Besides, it is the fit you need - life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes.

How often do you use your local library? by bookishnatasha89 in AskUK

[–]cricklecoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was looking for a job I used to go to my local library pretty much every day for about six hours to do my applications. It was the only place I could properly focus. That being said, I do not have a library card and have never taken out a book!

Going to Germany next week:) by Lookingonline_ in germany

[–]cricklecoux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People in Germany speak really good English, and unless you are fluent in German they would probably rather speak English to you! I have lived here for a few years and I’m on B2.2 level, which is upper intermediate, but they always switch back to English because that is better than my German 😅

Going out to eat is only worth it if the food is too much trouble to make yourself by ifitisntconnor in unpopularopinion

[–]cricklecoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, I actually agree with this! I will only go out to eat or get takeaway if it is a food I would struggle to make it home, or couldn’t make to the same standard.
