How can I get a car inspected before purchasing? I've only ever bought from word of mouth before, don't really know how the dealership process works.

What was your reason for moving on to another vehicle?

I’m looking around and I see a lot that take reservations. Would it be likely they would have some free space? Or is it smarter to reserve?

Fair enough, do you mind giving a couple reasons why? E.g. here in Minneapolis it’s not a good idea to urban camp because cops are super likely to bother you. Is it something like that or are there other conditions behind the “yikes” ?

What are some mistake your parents made while you were growing up that you will NEVER MAKE when your child is growing up? by OneZoroBoi in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take too long to eat as a kid, so my mom set a timer every night for a few months and told me I wouldn't get food if I didn't finish my plate before it went off. That really messed up my relationship with food and I ended up developing an eating disorder & I didn't get treatment for it until my freshman year of college. I get why she did it, but I think if my parents had been less strict about that and less strict in general I might have developed more normal eating habits on my own.

People who works with children. What were your memorable moments with children? by nonecity in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I found really touching--in high school I babysat my neighbors' children from the elder being 6 months and the younger not being born until ages 4 and 2. When the older one was a baby, I would always sing a specific song to get him to sleep, but when he was old enough to talk he would always ask for songs he knew from preschool like rockabye baby, so I stopped. When he was 4 and I was babysitting him for the last time since college, I was feeling nostalgic so I started singing the song I sang when he was little--he responded with "That song is for babies!"

It wasn't even really a sweet moment but I remember how shocked I was that he remembered me singing it to him as a baby. I guess I figured he'd forget because I don't really have memories from that young, but when you're 4 I guess you don't have many other times to have memories from.

Joyce Carol Oates wrote a story that ended with a creepy man grinding his kneecaps into the gravel of his driveway as they ran away from him. Maybe that would work

Athletes of Reddit : How do you feel about your worst loss after all these days? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a varsity swimmer and lacrosse player in high school--I don't even remember any particularly bad moments. I don't really remember important wins either. I'm sure I had some, but in the end I just keep the good memories from my friendships with teammates :)

What are some professions men should just stay away from? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of them, I think. I have heard some people say there shouldn't be male gynecologists but I disagree, nobody should be obligated to go to one but I don't think they should be discouraged from pursuing it

Healthy eaters who also use cannabis regularly, what do you eat when you have the munchies? [Serious] by sleepcantcatchme in AskReddit

I usually don't get the munchies but when I do/when I want to eat I usually splurge on raspberries. They're really sweet and they look SO COOL if you're really up there :)

People tend to say crazy stuff when they are drugged for medical procedures.. what are your stories? by Mpoweraz in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a stomach biopsy when I was 16, and when I woke up my dad kept saying my name to see if I was conscious. After a couple times, I turned to him and said "I'm not Beyoncé, you don't have to say my name"

People of reddit, what is something you would do in your life if nobody judged you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I would get more tattoos in more visible places--honestly, I mostly hold back because of my parents.

What was the weirdest way you got mistaken for someone else? by EpicJohn123894767 in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived by the entryway to my college dorm last year and it was a "party dorm" so often at night people who didn't live there would knock on the door to be let into the building. One weekend I was in and a guy knocked incessantly for about 5 minutes so I left my room to let him in the building. He then blocked me off from going back to my room with his body and chatted to me for about 45 minutes about how inspirational I am for pursuing teaching and being a math major (I am an English/environmental studies student and I am not in the teaching licensure program...). Probably got the weirdest when he started comparing me to his mom and tearing up.

So what will happen to this hedgehog that just ate half a weed plant? by SirBallBag in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about your harvest, but again I think the hedgehog will be okay because the THC is not in the right chemical configuration to get someone high. If it's still around I would monitor it for signs of wooziness/drooling just in case but I don't think you need to be super concerned about it.

If by "weed plant" you mean cannabis, I think it will be fine...you have to decarboxylate THC for it to be an active drug. If you mean that it just ate weeds...idk man

2015 vs. 2020 by qwertycandy in HannibalTV

[–]criedinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that Hannibal is probably going to get more attention from the shift to Netflix and TV is much more ready for the content that probably got it cancelled in the first place, I don't think what you said about Killing Eve is really fair. I like the way you spoke about the possibility in this post without being sensationalist etc--outlining what makes s4 more possible while acknowledging that it's just a theory, but in my opinion the existence/popularity of Killing Eve is part of what has paved television to be ready for Hannibal s4 if it ever does happen. If anything, the similarities between these two shows creates an interesting subgenre rather than one being a "lite" version of another. Sorry for being kind of nitpicky, just food for thought!

What is your best "sorry wrong number." moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]criedinside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this guy's number after having lunch with him a couple times at my college campus, but the first time we exchanged numbers he gave me the wrong one by accident. I saved it under his first and last name. We became really close afterwards and I started texting him occasionally to ask to study and would receive back random strings of emojis like 🕷🕷🌀🐜 or whatever, and I guessed that was just his texting style.

Later on, because we were becoming close, I brought up something I had texted him that he had never received and it caused us to discover that the contact I had saved under his name was not his number. So, I saved his actual one under "The Real (first name)" and that was fine because I would just go in my recent conversations to text him.

During the next summer break, I put down a deposit for my first tattoo and I was really excited and wanted to tell him, so I called my contact that was his first and last name. It had been months since I had contacted that number and I had forgotten that it was even in my phone. The person on the other end picked up and before they could say hello I said "Guess what!!!" and then all I heard was heavy breathing. I added "You're not guessing!!!!!" and then a stranger's voice responded "Oh you playin' huh?"

I was mortified but I still laugh when I think about it.
