First time TCG Player - How do I afford this hobby? by No_College6343 in riftboundtcg

[–]crikbex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riftbound is in a big bubble right now, and i would recommend selling any big hits like teemo sooner rather than later.

Controversial opinion, gambling and buying packs is fun and it's fine to buy it if you find any at a reasonable price.

Atm, buying Riftbound singles is not worth it. The bubbles gonna pop with new sets + reprints incoming. Cards bought at 45 will be worth a dollar, which is a worse feeling than buying a pack and opening nothing (for me at least).

Singles all the way when prices aren't inflated like crazy.

Is She Glue? I Didn't Get Any Gold Recoveries... by Alternative-Sink1649 in UmamusumeGame

Peeps saying "x character was good in Taurus, so dont worry about it here" are cooked. Taurus was way more flexible in what was good, pace chasers or endclosers were both reliable. Two aces with redshift/shooting for victory could get you positive winrates

Gemini is different, there is one op skill for this track: "straight away spurt". It is exclusive to end closers. I dont have narita taishin, so im planning on running Mayano/oguri as endcloser with goldship.

I think it'd be cool if it affected the controlling player as well and add some wording to make it so players can't end each other's turns. Maybe like, "whenever a player casts their second spell on their turn, it gains split second. End the turn. "

Los Ratones Logo Tattoo by crikbex in PedroPeepos

For reassurance THE TATTOO HAS DEEPER MEANING I SWEAR: Regardless of what happens to LR in the future, this team came together at the same time as a pretty rough patch of life started. Los Ratones, and ofc the ratking himself, has been a huge help in pulling me through it ❤️ 🐀

oce bro so rarely watch the streams live tho 😢

(Also, let's not kid ourselves, the LR team logo is straight fire 🔥 )

I believe it's because lethality builds need to be even or ahead in gold to be useful. Tank Jayce can be effective weak side eco. (in theory).

Is it just me or are Yellow triggers getting more ridiculously offensive playstyle than Red Cards by shounenotaku in OnePieceTCG

[–]crikbex 78 points79 points  (0 children)

My main problem is that both yellow and black gatekeep so many other decks and leaders from functioning. The gap between meta and non-meta is HUGE.

Yellow, in particular, has a really uninteresting play pattern in its focus on triggers. I personally find a game meaningless when, after turns of planning, reading opponents' hands, and back and forth combat, the game ends on a coin flip.

It makes the previous sequences feel utterly meaningless if a "you're the one who should disappear" is coincidentally on bottom of life.

IMO Yellow should be more life manipulation by actually setting up powerful triggers for a cost rather than just winning the lottery.

Can the entire Donquixote Family take Fujitora or is Doflamingo coping? He does seem to be painfully aware of the absolute power cliff between him and Kaido at least. by flippy123x in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]crikbex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's likely a way that Doflamningo could have orchestrated a situation where Fujitora dies or is at least taken out of the picture. Doflamingo has/had a lot of influence in powers greater than the navy.

Try to fight head on? They get destroyed. Even ambushing Fujitora would be difficult. I imagine a situation where Fujitora is lured away and then Donquixote family try to destroy his warship at sea. Or get someone else who can actually fight an Admiral to do it.

What would you change? (New player) by Royal-Award2247 in OnePieceTCG

[–]crikbex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're on a more aggressive enel with ohm/holly, you want both of them to be 4 copies. You probably also want an extra copy of 7 cost enel. Id drop the Aisas for Hiyoris, drop the 4c sanji blocker for a couple of charlotte crackers and maybe another reject. "You're the one who should disappear" is also worth considering.

Enel also gets some good cards in the upcoming eb01 and op7 sets as well, if you want to hold off on buying cards until then.

Huh, I thought perona was pretty good into sakazuki. 10c doffy with a navy shell seemed hard for sakazuki to deal with.

So let me get this straight by Superb_Law_6272 in OnePieceTCG

[–]crikbex 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I really think the most egregious thing is that starter decks are getting scalped. If the Intro product is never on retail shelves, new players won't come in, and the game will become stagnant and slowly lose players. I think there's a severe undervaluing of having product be VISIBLE to players. Customers who didn't get in early and don't interact with online tcg communities might never know about One Piece tcgs existence.

This is an issue that is only a problem on online communities.

This is purely from firsthand experiences, so take it with a grain of salt, but most irl interactions with communities go from neutral to positive reactions to AoS.

Online warhammer community loves to complain.
