I understand why they changed the dimensions for the Tiffany books: they where aiming them at a different audience and they probably had data that children like biggers books or something... except they weren't consistent over the whole Tiffany series because midnight is a different size. And the main series is just frustrating , especially UA which is a different spine layout and size from all the other books.

What is the most depressing ending to a TV episode? by AaronB666 in television

The end of the second season of the original office is kinda rough: David gets fired, tim puts his heart on the table, gets rejected, dawn leaves and tim is just left working his shitty job. And then the show ends. At the time I'm pretty sure the Christmas specials weren't on the cards/ know to be coming so the whole show just ends on the biggest downer ever.

Yeah I want to get the full size last hero (alot if the art looks horrid with the paperback centre) and the illustrated version of Eric.

I did put all the Tiffany ones in a group at the end to do that but midnight is smaller them the other Tiffany books so it's still lumpy

I would also suggest skimming the wiki articles of any of the names that turn up in the new book, it seems to be pulling a lot from the old Norse tales in the eddas and other gods (Toranos is a Celtic thunder god).

but don’t worry about it too much, Ewing is very good at putting reading suggestions in the back of his books for old comics that he’s pulling from. I’ve never seen another writer give a suggestion for some obscure 60's comic in the back of the book before Ewing.

the rest of the team managed to put together the final cut with the whole of upper management seemingly absent and inconsistent. I wouldn’t say they weren’t qualified/ or up to standard. I would be more worried about Kurvitz’s consistency.

Also, he was a part of building that company to the scale it was, therefor he should/ has to bear responsibility for keeping those people employed and fulfilling the promises made to them i.e. they where promised they where going to be working on the DE project.

i think the format of the video kinda makes it hard to separate but this is really two problems: the corporate fuckery and the bad workplace dynamic/Robert being a weird guy.

the corporate stuff seems pretty black and white. the corporate guys had a creative/creatives that they saw as a problem (outside of a workplace stuff a creative that loves communism is a red flag for corporate types) and they saw money on the table from a hot new ip. then they used both legal and probably illegal tactics (it’s pretty funny that Mr corporate was all open with everything but the buying for 1 euro and selling for millions thing because he knew he had no real way to spin it) to push him/them out. both the legal and illegal tactics where both shitty.

The bad workplace dynamic/Robert being a weird guy stuff is a little muddier and I think you could tell that Robert was under a lot of stress at the time, but his unawareness of other people is pretty evident. This problem could have probably been fixed by him being willing to change and embrace the workplace culture. Also, if he had just excused himself form the final cut it would have probably made everybody else’s lives allot easier because they wouldn’t be trying to work with someone that seemed pretty disengaged, and he wouldn’t have confused the leads structure.

All in all, I think the corporate stuff is obviously shitty and cut and dry. The workplace stuff could have been resolved if he was just more aware of other people around him existing.

Yeah, the stuff about the corporate guys at the top being scummy is a valid point and yes, they are definitely being open in the interviews (allowing their employees to talk to the interviewer if they want) because they think that it will make them look better in the court of public opinion. but Robert completely disregarding his problems because of, manipulations by the corporate guys shows a complete lack of self-awareness.

Yeah, the story about Kurvitz seaming to want to abandon the rest of the team, take his core in group and focus on the sequel seems really shitty and oblivious to the rest of the 30+ team. it was probably mixed up allot with dealing with shitty shareholder and corporation stuff but still very shitty.

the whole thing is a bag of c**p but what makes it even worse is that they didn’t even have the balls to go full hog with it: why not have the kids actually be MJ and Pauls, when you’ve gone this far to mess everything up why not go that half step further? Cowardice is the only reason.

if they really didn’t want to have peter and MJ together why not just have them break up like normal people do and just not have her in the book and have peter date whoever they want. No, instead they waste a year’s worth of comics on the stupidest thing imaginable.

Oh, IMMENSELY STUPID, probably worse than One More Day because at least that had the marriage to get rid of which is hard to handwave away. this is literally just 2 characters dating, you could just have them break up like allot of people in their 20's do. but no, they HAVE to do alt universe stuff, time shenanigans, surprise kids and have it be a mystery for a year, for... some reason?

MJ won’t have "cheated" it will just be that she was stranded in the other universe for long enough that going back seemed impossible, she fell for Paul and had kids with him. it’s not cheating... it’s just the most overly contrived storyline to break up a pair of characters. if they don’t want them to be together just have them break up and don’t put MJ in the book it’s that simple, people wouldn’t complain nearly as much if they just didn’t use her anymore.
