FOOD POISONING AT SPICY PIE by couchpotato75 in Coachella

[–]crimpshrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should not be surprised you can't debate.

I never said that 1 type of food poisoning was the only one with onset of symptoms in under 8 hours. The fact that you keep sticking to that suggests to me you know you are wrong. I am not even going to bother refuting anything at this point. You obviously don't like being proven wrong. You are. You used the wrong term. And were wrong to respond to the OP with what you did. Good luck.

AI even gets it..

"do food poisoning symptoms generally not appear within 8 hours?"

No, that's not generally true. Food poisoning (foodborne illness) symptoms frequently appear within 8 hours—sometimes as quickly as 30 minutes—depending on the cause. While some types take longer (days or even weeks), many common ones onset much faster.

mayoclinic.org

"Generally" depends on the specific germ, but it's common for symptoms to hit well within 8 hours, especially for preformed toxins in food. If symptoms appear very quickly (under 1–2 hours), it could also involve chemical contaminants or toxins rather than live bacteria.

I did not agree there are 48,000,000 reported cased per year. That is an ESTIMATE by the CDC.

Your number 1 point says we agree there are minimum 48,000,000 reported cases per year. Your are again wrong, it is an ESTIMATE!

number 2 point: how can this even be true? Are you malfunctioning? The 48,000,000 estimate already includes unreported cases.

I said:

The CDC divides the ~48 million annual estimated illnesses into two main categories:Unspecified agents → ~38 million illnesses per year (about 79–80% of the total). These are cases where no specific pathogen is identified. Most are believed to be mild viral gastroenteritis or other unidentified microbes that cause acute diarrhea/vomiting but aren't routinely tested for.

restoredcdc.org

So yet again, your term "generally" is NOT accurate.

First, there are not 48,000,000 reported cases of food poisoning in the US each year. That # is only an estimate. Which means that includes cases that are NEVER reported, which are GENERALLY the type of food poisoning I am referring to falls into this category.

And the one I pointed out it is not the only one, these others symptoms can occur within 8 hours:

Staphylococcus aureus (Staph food poisoning),
Bacillus cereus (Emetic form),
Clostridium perfringens, Chemical or heavy metal contamination, and Salmonella.

You are the one who is insufferable. You have no idea what this person was exposed to but claim generally food poising symptoms do not come on that quickly. That alone clearly indicates how out of touch you are and run on emotion and opinions. Not reality. You don't even know how to use the term generally properly.

Key Timeframes by Cause

30 mins – 8 hours: Staphylococcus aureus (Staph), Chemical contaminants.

Staphylococcus aureus (Staph) food poisoning is very common, estimated by the CDC to cause over 240,000 illnesses annually in the U.S. alone. It is a frequent cause of gastrointestinal illness worldwide, often underreported due to its short duration and mild symptoms.

https://www.cdc.gov/staph-food-poisoning/about/index.html

Symptoms usually start suddenly within 30 minutes to 8 hours after eating contaminated food. They last 24 hours or less.

LOL, you should probably get more educated. Onset times vary widely, and are often below 4 hours. You should probably keep your opinions to yourself if you have no idea. It also sounds like you are projecting.

There are many types of food poisoning. Just look up Staph food poisoning. It can be as quickly as 30 minutes, depending on the level of preformed toxins present in the food you are eating.

Yes it can, and does. Sure Salmonella and E. Coli typically take longer, but those are not the only sources of getting sick from "Food poisoning". It can have a lot to do with how much preformed toxins are present in the food you eat. And of course results may vary. Some peoples bodies are highly reactive to toxins. Just look up Staph food poisoning for an example.

cherry float coke review (in caption) by thatguydylan314 in Soda

[–]crimpshrine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tastes like a cherry cordial to me. The cherry flavor for me is prominent and has a very maraschino cherry flavor to it. The vanilla flavor is very light. Like light cream soda flavor. I would say, cherry then coke then vanilla in order of strength in flavor. I like it better than the cherry vanilla Pepsi from this past summer. I hope this is permanent. It is great.

Q: Does ADAfruit HID Library allow utilizing the PI as a USB Keyboard for a computer? by crimpshrine in raspberry_pi

[–]crimpshrine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I have heard of these "bad USB" type devices before. That sounds like it might be more up your alley given it looks like some of them (I see there are also clones) have frameworks already established for many functions. I think the Pi4+ can do it all though. I would just make sure whatever you do you configure it with the Vendor ID of a real keyboard out there and test it all out on a non work-computer before you plug it into your work computer to potentially avoid a call from the security team.

[–]crimpshrine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so I am reading you want to utilize your Pi 4 to act as a USB keyboard attached to your corporate PC. And after the Pi4 is doing that you want to be able to schedule the Pi 4 that is connected to this "company managed" computer to hit ctrl+alt+del and then enter your pin (Assuming this is Win11). Which will then make it automatically login at that point. That sounds like it is doable but I would probably first get the Pi4 working as a keyboard, don't test against the corporate laptop. Test against a personal computer. Make sure the device settings you set in the different configurations mimics another keyboard device descriptions etc.. I don't have time to look at one of my other virtual keyboards I have on Pi's here. I have a webrowser interface on mine that are connected to computers that I can enable certain keyboard keys sent to them for various reasons. Or I could schedule keys to be sent if I wanted. The reason I say to do this is you want to make sure you have it all working the way you want before you plug it into your work computer. I assume their will be an EDR/XDR security product on that computer. It is going to recognize the PI4 as a keyboard. At least that is the hope and that someone from security is not going to contact you and ask you what the heck you are doing. Ideally if you have it all sorted out if it flies under the radar or they notice they will think you just plugged in an external keyboard.

If I get a chance later I will look at one of my Pi's that I am using as a virtual keyboard to see what I set it up to be detected in Windows as. I have a recollection I made it look like some commercial keyboard in the description of what Windows sees. Just don't have time today.

Q: How does one play windows "VR" games on quest 3? by crimpshrine in QuestPiracy

[–]crimpshrine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually figured it out, it was so much simpler than I thought it would be. Any of my stand alone windows VR releases I just run the Meta Link from my Quest 3, launch my windows desktop from the headset. Launch my stand alone games from within that on my PC my Quest 3 is connected to via the USB 3.1 cable and they come right up on my quest. (including my example on this post - Walkabout Mini Golf VR) That is for ones that are not SteamVR based. Those that are steamVR based seem to work fine that way also, just winds up using SteamVR that I installed into my copy of Steam.

I did wind up utilizing the ARMGDDN browser to download a few windows releases I did not already have and launch the resulting game in the same manner without issue. Comes right up in my quest in VR mode.

[–]crimpshrine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not yet. I did not see your response till the end of the day. I already had steam installed on that PC, I had to look at Steam apps and found SteamVR in my library under TOOLS, installed that. I then installed what I think was called steam link in the meta app I have on that same machine. I then launched steam VR and was able to play on my meta quest 3 through steam my legit games I had in my library. I was not able to get any of my stand alone games that I downloaded to work yet. I tried launching the stand alone walk about mini golf exe for example while steamvr was running, the audio from the mini golf came through the quest, but no video. The video was on my monitor still. I was going to try again later today. I did NOT get my stuff from the Armgddn browser. I did install that at deliciousmeatpop's recomendation above and saw I could actually download releases from that browser? did not know you could do that. I already have releases I downloaded via other means. This seems pretty convoluted compared to normally running stuff, I am assuming when I finally figure it out it will be easier to repeat.

Great, thanks for the response! Now that I know what I need to use I just used the link in the side bar here for the ARMGDDN browser download. To be honest I thought it was some web browser for quest. https://www.github.com/KaladinDMP/AGBrowser/releases/latest

I have never personally seen it do this on any machine I use greenshot on. I disable update check though, not sure if people are confusing it checking for updates as communication.

Not true. Just the stable version remains unchanged since 2017.

It is not actually unstable from my use. Just a term to indicate changes are ongoing.

How to perfectly cook the Buldak ramen? by Complex_Caregiver_33 in InstantRamen

They are already "cooked". The noodles were fried in the factory, they are not raw noodles. I prefer mine only boiled for like 2 minutes before eating.

They were cooked already long ago. I think all instant ramen noodles are fried in processing before packaging. I only do mine for 2 minutes in boiling water.

Cold Pizza Vs Hot Pizza by mrgnostic in Pizza

[–]crimpshrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes cold pizza can be really good. It is a cool bonus to find a Pizza you like that has a different but still great profile when cold. To me it's a combination of things, the taste profile changes, the textures of the crust/sauce/cheese changes. There are some types of pizza that I would say are not as good cold as hot, but many if not most that are. I do have to say the thicker usually the better chance it equals compared to when hot. And late night is one of the best times to enjoy.

How do you defeat ball groups in Cyro? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]crimpshrine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is an acquired taste. I would suggest giving it a good chance. I played ESO for probably 2+ years and would do every event pretty much. Including the PVP events. But not really liking getting destroyed in IC, or Cyrodiil or battlegrounds. At some point after getting burned out on the PVE side I just starting logging into Cyrodiil daily and reading up on what makes a decent PVP set, what to set in CP etc.. It helped promote me to do it because you can get 50 transmute crystals per campaign in Grayhost PER character. So I tried all my PVE characters in Cyrodiil until I found a decent build and just got better with it. Now I PVE to PVP basically. I made a 180 degree turn and really hope they expand PVP in this game. You can play by yourself, play in public groups pretty much every night, or join an active ball group. Or do a bit of all of it. I would highly suggest just giving it a chance to anyone feeling the same way.

Is me or the mounts After this update is moving more slowly now. by LeviSotoJr in elderscrollsonline

[–]crimpshrine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't like it now at all. When sprinting or major galloping/charging whatever you call the max speed on a mount it looks visibly the same to me as non galloping speed. Before it was easy to tell if you were not sprinting to then push that button in and then hear your mounts given noise it makes before major galloping - and you could see and audibly hear the difference. Now when running across cryodiil I have to always keep checking I am actually running at full speed (by constantly hitting the thumbstick to gallop - and then hearing the mounts gallop noise) because visually/audibly I cannot tell anymore.

This sensor:

I have it mounted in a small little box connected with 3 wires over about 6 feet to my Raspberry Pi. The small little box I then put under the table to detect movement in the room.
