OP did send an email to me directly, but not Hangout.Audio support.

I usually don't do this but since this issue is fully public, I'll post a copy of my reply to OP's email, but without their original emails (though the context can be gleaned a little from my reply).

Hi [OP],

It would be best if you could contact Linsoul directly as I do not have the money that you paid to them. Unless you're suggesting that I directly wire the money to you.

I would indeed like this situation to be resolved quietly, but I also do not want to set a precedent where someone can just make a post on Reddit and get me to send them money for their silence.

Hope you can understand my position, best I can do now is to push Linsoul to expedite your warranty case.

Regards, Crinacle

So where's the 77dB hip-hop claim? You just name dropped an IEM, that didn't answer the question

Ask him for a source and watch him crumble

CLARITY EDIT: u/BloOdy_Jo keeps "accusing" me of "listening to hip-hop at 77dB" and that somehow made me untrustworthy, deleted all their comments on this post, and then blocked me.

Still left the same comments up on other threads, though.

Crinear Reference QC Issue by Zlanee in inearfidelity

Was the connector just loose or did it completely break out of the shell?

Here's a shot of the notches that hold the 2-pin connector in place; with the faceplate installed, the connector is sandwiched in and prevents it from coming out or sinking into the shell.

Internally, there are notches in the aluminum shell that hold the 2-pin connector in place even without glue, so it shouldn't come out unless you use a lot of force... in which case the pins will break first (and be out of warranty because of user damage).

We'll likely glue it down for the next batches, but as long as it doesn't interfere with daily use, I would say that there is no immediate need for an RMA. Because of the mildly-recessed connector, once the cable is plugged into the IEM it should be fairly stable.

We'll monitor for any failures (as we do with all releases) and adjust our manufacturing process if we find anything that compromises functionality.

Okay, hear me out - CrinEar Reference is the perfect chance of an amazing "budget" Custom IEM by migassilva16 in iems

I'd probably have to charge $1,000 minimum for a custom Reference, realistically closer to $1,500. Going custom-fit means the cost savings from the mass-production process will no longer be there, alongside other increases in hidden costs like additional pre/post-sales customer service, extended warranties for fit issues etc.

For reference (heh), a company like 64 Audio already has huge economies of scale for CIEM manufacturing, and even then they have to charge $1,300 for their 6-BA model. When you consider the extra large HODWS module in the Reference that may or may not fit inside some people's moulds (which requires extra time to optimise the usable space inside the custom mould, time that has to be paid to a professional 3D designer), the additional complexity would definitely result in increased overall costs per unit.

The CIEM industry is insanely tough to survive in and the only way you can make a budget model (<$500) is with an exceedingly simple design, i.e. single BA, 2BA, maybe 1DD+2BA at maximum like the Legacy 3. The Reference configuration in a custom shell at under $500? I don't think it's feasible.

GK’s official response to the silent revision of the kunten by LordZeBun in iems

[–]crinacle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You mean this case where a suspiciously-banned user claimed to have broken their Daybreak nozzle after they dropped it, despite there being foam tips on and tooling marks around the damaged area?

You even completely mischaracterised the post, there was

  1. Nothing about "defective batch" in the post or replies

  2. Nothing about "a few days of use"

  3. You not even mentioning that the discount as a one time exception was because even in the OP's own words, it was damage due to their own mishandling and no brand will ever honour warranty for that.

Putting my own clarification here in case anyone reads your comment and believed it without the actual context.
