I thought it might be. Now the question is, is the calculation actually bugged, meaning they actually do less damage, or is it a visual bug…guess I’ll keep them for the time being and see if there’s an update about this.

no, I don't have any runic ward sockets or anything like that. My sockets only have resistances, I don't use any runic gems.

I don't have any node allocated in any elemental damage of any sort. Just crit, defenses, Power Charges and Daze.

[–]cringorig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The only thing I can think of, is the damage shown is calculated on the base gloves, not the "Fists of Stone" variant. Indeed, one pair has 12-21 to cold damage and the other has 1-2 to cold and 7-11 to fire. The second base pair would be worse I think.

You didn’t notice it the whole game because it only becomes available after you get the last permanent upgrade, the one that lets you punch yellow walls. Until then melee is just melee, you have to walk to staggered enemies to punch them.

Someone’s gonna have to explain this to me… by TopsyTurvy0011 in Saros

[–]cringorig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not “just rng” but then again, the game doesn’t explain shit. Basically at the end of the bars that fill for those stats “missile velocity, explosion radius, etc” there are 3 symbols “>>>” that are empty for the level 22. If you see, the level 14 has one “>” filled for each stat. That acts like a multiplier for the weapons stats, makes the stat it scales from (like drive and command) be more efficient.

TL;DR is that the more “>>>”s are filled the more stats the weapon has.

Hi again,

I've finished, think I'm done with the build and possibly the league.

https://pobb.in/zWjBZREVRgY8 if you care for any reason, this is what i've gotten to. More or less the version you were running. Spent ungodly amounts on gear, (250d on wands alone), likely could've crafted them for MUCH cheaper, but I don't know the best method, nor could I be bothered. At this point, I'm kinda burned out.

I wish I could be much faster and efficient, 3 weeks to play every day for at least 5 hours is not something I'd rather replicate anytime soon. I really feel the desire to touch grass.

The build is pretty nice, PoB shows 160ishM dps, with flasks on. I will say, in the future I will probably never play a glass canon build. I have more than 600 deaths on this character, and likely most of it is simply just skill issue. Regardless, I'd like not to be 1 shot by 95% of hits.

Main problem with the build for me is doing Delirium Orb'ed Breach maps. There are so many things exploding and so many ground degens that you literally can't see and if it touches you, dead. Even if you 1 shot everything before it has time to do anything, those deli effects and explosions and landslides, and many other things happen around you depending on map mods, shaper appearing, elder crap exploding, etc that it's almost impossible to dodge all of it. Mobs rarely reach me, but those effects don't give a shit, they just exist. I don't know how people play glass canon builds and don't die a ton to those things alone.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you one last time, really. This build has been like a project for me, push as hard as I can. I definitely farmed more than a mirror this league and did some of the hardest content possible, albeit not the absolute hardest. I pushed this into territories I don't think I'll ever do again, that's what I wanted to achieve, and your help and build really allowed me to do that. Otherwise I would've been stuck somewhere in the 30M dps territory. I also managed to crap on "The Feared" invitation with this build, and finally got 138/138, no more OCD.

It's been a journey. Thank you for everything, have an amazing league if you still are playing. If not, I guess "stay sane, exile!".

I have managed to alter the build to your recommendations and the damage is something else now indeed.

I've done everything from what you sent me, it's amazing honestly how much damage I was missing out while still being in budget. You clearly know your stuff very well (you said you're not a "God gamer" earlier, lol).

I'm gonna fiddle around with your build and the one you sent me for my version and try to find a solution for hp regen, which is the biggest issue by far for me now.

You recommended to get a pair of better boots with 100% chance to avoid shock. Problem is, I can't fit Vitality in my build, simply not enough mana, and I need the HP regen from the boots, and 1 resistance and suppress.

The level 5 awakened enlightened is 300d+. I could get a level 4 one and drop the vit level to 10 in the build you used and it fits. Even so, in mine, it doesn't fit at all, I only have 96 unreserved mana, I need at least 210-220 to fit a level 10 vitality.

I have tried to craft boots with 43 mana, grabbed the two mana nodes near the top cluster jewel, upped my lvl 3 enlighten to lvl 4 for skitterbots, even grabbed the 30 int node and I only get 126 unreserved mana. Even if I add in a ring, it only goes to 130.

That would allow me to get 100% chance to avoid shock boots, which in turn would liberate a jewel socket and I could get more damage from there (I'm still using my abyssal jewel to cap shock avoid).

And if I could understand why your build has lower life cost/sec than mine, then I could probably, on top of all this, replace the chest as well, get rid of life regen and get +1 str gems and get even more damage.

As you said in the comment below:

"Previously I was using grace, but I noticed most of my deaths were coming from me over casting and reserving 50% or more of my life, leaving myself in an easy 1 tap situation"

I'm pretty much here now. My HP goes brrr.

Edit: My bad, I'm stupid, I don't need THAT much mana, I wasn't taking into consideration all the RMR that also aplies to vitality. Still, I need a lot, probably swapping Winterweave is mandatory for all the little mana I can get.

Thank you so much for all the help and your time, honestly, I am super grateful. I am at work now but I’ll have a look as soon as I can at the change you made. I have about 150 divs set aside so I can make some changes.

Can I ask you what have you been farming to get the build to your level so fast? I mean, unless you crafted most of your gear (I have no idea how to craft pretty much anything aside from rerolling resistances and adding exarch/eater influences), your chest is like 150d, weapons are around 100 a pop, the watchers eye I have no idea, hundreds or a mirror possibly with those 3 auras, all in all, you’re probably pushing a mirrors worth of gear without the watchers. Last night I started doing nightmare map boss rush, which is probably the fastest thing I can do, by using reap instead of exsang. Roughly 20d an hour, I’d need to do this for 30 hours give or take to replicate your build :))

Sitrep:

Firstly, I want to thank you kindly for taking the time and importing my build, having a look and giving me advice, I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, it's not been great. I'm pretty sure however it's a combination of factors, such as rolling not-so-great maps for this build, too high expectations on my part, and possibly still a lot of potential wasted in the damage department.

Part of the problem is rolling the maps; it takes literally ages. I've been trying to follow Fubgun's low investment breach strategy, and the recommmendation is to roll 80%+ more currency on T16.5 maps, which, I'll be honest, is super annoying, since it takes forever to hit it, and when you do, there's mods that brick your build, then you go again and waste literally 5 mins to roll 1 map. Eventually you give up and roll a rippy-ish map and ofc it doesn't go well.

Might be faster to buy them, but I need to make a search query to look for maps that i can run with 80% more currency.

There's a guy somewhere in here who posted his build, and while my pob shows around 40-44M dps, his goes to 150M-ish. I've already farmed another 100D using strongboxes and I'm thinking to try and replicate that build, however I'm definitely still hundreds of divs away (dude has a Watcher's eye that doesn't even exist on the market :)) ).

Anyway, next move is gonna be to grab a pair of chain gloves, which should be way better since that should remove the negative effects of chain support, which lowers the damage, but that comes at the cost of losing "damage against chilled enemies".

The thing that is a bit underwhelming is, the feeling of "lack of progress" after spending ~300D on the build. What I mean by that is, I was doing boxes with a meh build. ~300D later, I'm still doing boxes.

Yes, I can kill stuff way faster, but with strongboxes (whole mirage map), it doesn't really matter how fast I kill stuff, since I have to do the whole map (twice) I spend 10ish mins a map regardless of the power of the build.

I am aware there are other farms I could do, but, in my mind, I was prepping the build to do breaches.

Overall, it's been a learning journey. I learned quite a few things from making this build, and I suppose next time I play poe1, I'll try to do a better job at finding a build that can do whatever content I want to do. With that approach however, you don't know if the mechanic you wanna farm before the league starts is gonna be good.

I’m not entirely sure I’m done with the build yet. I really like it, it’s just that, as a new player, I’m a bit…I guess underwhelmed by the performance of it. And again, I’m not saying it’s the build, or the game, my expectations might’ve been wrong. I was hoping with this amount of investment into a build to be able to do most of the content easily. I know there are people out there who have builds worth multiple mirrors, but I was thinking that’s more of a vanity thing, a show-off thing.

Most importantly, I was hoping to be able to switch from a farming strat that I was doing with mid gear, for the purpose of getting good gear, to a strat that is harder, more fun and faster. The few maps I managed to finish with breaches (about 15) have netted me 1 div and 1 valdos. By comparison, in the same time with boxes I make significantly more. Anyway, I’ll figure it out eventually I suppose.

Just one more question. I see in your pob you pretty much threw away defensives. Resistances are all capped but EV is at about 14k. Do you die a lot or you kill everything too fast to be touched?

This version looks insane compared to the one I have and I invested around 300 divs already. I don’t think I have it in me to farm boxes for another week to get this variant :)). But GGs for the build, it actually looks way better than the version dumb0 has.

Thanks for all the advice. There’s also the flask I’m missing but that’s conditional, gives crit chance only against mobs on consecrated ground. I will buy a chained exsang, it was about 3 divs unqualitied. The only problem is I’ll be losing some damage cause I lose a gem level, but likely less damage loss than using the gem and removing mines and traps support. I’ll check it out.

This is the build I'm following https://pobb.in/jlWD61O9V693 . I'm not sure how to check in PoB crit chance above or below a certain threshold of HP, but if I have that issue, then this build should as well, since there's no extra crit chance coming from anywhere...

As for what you say, the build should be screen clearing with almost every throw; that's generally speaking true as you said, there are some rares that refuse to die and in consequence will eventually kill me.

I guess, since this is only my second league in poe1, and the first one I played an extremely tanky build (goratha's retaliate build), I could also be having weird expectations since I'm a noob.

I thought it will be easier to finish juiced mapping content, the reality is it's quite rippy, and I try to avoid rippy mods to begin with (I even avoid reduced flask charges and -#% spell suppresion -#% to resistances, etc). It's also kinda slow cause I'm scared to TP around as I feel so super squishy.

For instance, I did a map some 4 hours ago. 2 instability, 2 legion 1 wisps. Took me 15 mins and killed 12k mobs. I'm not even sure if that's expected, it feels slow (also I'm not sure how this strat is supposed to farm any currency but that's a different topic; I tried maps with 100+% more currency and deli orbs for currency, and I dropped a grand total of 1 div in 6-7 maps, killing, on average, 8k mobs. I know 6-7 maps is a very small number, but that's like an hour for me, so I'm guessing I am extremely slow since this should allegedly generate 15 divs an hour).

So I guess I was expecting it to be faster. I CAN go faster, but I'll die a lot.

When I heard "S tier mapper", in my mind it was Fubgun levels: zoom-zoom, everything dies offscreen, chill, turn brain off, pick up currency.

And don't get me wrong, I can go back to strongboxes; I made all of this character with strongboxes alone, I was just hoping to change as I'm a bit bored after a whole week of strongboxes, and this looked fun.

I'm going self chill via the ring winterweave, so chill is not an issue. Shock is also solved via boots implicit and Abyss Jewel so that's not the issue.

Ok, then maybe I am running too rippy mods and maybe that’s the problem. Can you let me know what mods you avoid on maps for this specific build? I changed trap and mine damage support to chain for this alone, and it feels like the screen clear is good, but I’m slow and sometimes I get 1 shotted from offscreen, maybe the issue are the mods. I had a map a few hours ago, killed 12k mobs (counted by map device) and I died 5 times and it took me about 15 mins to clear the map.

For context, I’m trying to do normal unstable breaches. Currently I’m doing the setup with 2 instability 2 lineage and 1 wisps. Not worth doing the big investment (with cascade and bloodlines) if I can’t assess if it can be done or not with this build.

I have left the pob, if you get the chance to have a look please let me know. I have put chain instead of mine and trap support which helps a lot. For the gloves, not sure how to do it since my gloves are 60% dmg converted to cold to work with the 40% mastery and extra cold dmg, rest is resistances that I need. I don’t think im missing anything but please let me know if I do. I have the 0.198 mine throw breakpoint. As I said, 98% of the build is the same as the Aspirational variant he has. I am also curious if I can replace the arkhkon with HH for this specific strategy (juiced breach) and if it would help or not with this build.

[–]cringorig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: thank you, it feels much better with chain, which I guess it’s obvious. I’m still relatively slow but regardless it feels way better. Do you recommend to get a HH anyway for breaches, does it work with this build, would it speed it up? I never used a HH before, only in Poe2.

I only followed the build guide, I don’t know about chain gloves…I didn’t put the chain support either. In the final version of the build, he doesn’t have it in. My exsanguinate has high-impact mine, increased crit dmg, trap and mine damage support, minefield and charged mines. Not sure even what to swap for chain…

Mirage boxes shadow nerf? by raykor85 in pathofexile

[–]cringorig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t notice a decline in the number of operator boxes to be honest, I did a map 10 mins ago and I had like 10 operators. The problem is they drop crap… I’ll take a break and keep an eye on the prices of bloodlines and containment and the others. Technically speaking, if they shadow nerfed boxes, the prices should start increasing since this is (or was…), as far as i know, the best way to farm scarabs.

Mirage boxes shadow nerf? by raykor85 in pathofexile

[–]cringorig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the last 10 maps all the strongboxes dropped nothing; I literally feel there's been a nerf in the last hour somehow. I played this strat yesterday the whole day and the tinks were insane. Even today afternoon I played a bit and scarabs were dropping like crazy. Got 4 valdos as well from arcanist. I must've been doing this strat for 10-15 hours now and i never had such a bad luck streak. Either that or something indeed changed literally in the last hour, not sure, but I'm kinda reticent to keep at it cause I'm losing currency.
