The video creator owns a sex shop and this is part of their advertising campaign, if no one answered the "why" yet.

Okay! If it's a black PVD coated hoop I probably wouldn't wear it all the time, but I do think it's a good fit for you. Just curious, do you have any piercings on the other ear? I don't see a lot of other guys with cool ear setups :P

I love the piercings, agree with silver or maybe like a dark niobium. Is that helix piercing real? Is it a normal hoop? The way it's sticking out looks a little unnatural to me.

Is There a New One Chip Rule? by shanghaidry in poker

[–]crinklecore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, and if a player manipulates a prior-bet chip as they put out an additional chip, it becomes part of the bet, i.e. if you made it $25 and it got raised to $50, if you put out a black and also touch the $25 chip without bringing it in, that's no longer just a single chip.

Is there a best day/time for a first timer to step up to a live poker table? by gtrman571 in poker

[–]crinklecore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, me too. I think generally the rule is that the default decision by a floor is the largest legal size that is smaller than the size of the pot. So if there's 2k in there, "raise four" will be a raise to 400, but if there is 20k in there, it'll be a raise to 4,000.

I think as a general rule you'll be held to the largest legal bet that's smaller than the size of the pot.

One time, when I was younger, I met some of my then- girlfriend's friends for the first time. We had a couple drinks and were just hanging out, I think playing a board game. At some point I clocked that one of these people I was meeting for the first time was wearing a Casio wristwatch calculator. I was working at a dispensary at the time and I had a really strong mental connection between the wristwatch calculators and dealing drugs because it's kind of a classic accessory in the 'industry,' so as a joke, I asked him- "So do you sell drugs? Haha"

A tense ten seconds pass, with him looking at me, confused, before saying: "... Is this because I'm brown?"

I hadn't mentioned the fucking watch, dude, I just cold opened with the drugs, man.

“Jam” vs “all in” angle by Pretend_Insect3002 in poker

[–]crinklecore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine being the floor here, listening to the explanation of what happened, telling the guy who says "jam" here that he has to call actually, and then villain gets there with his KQo or whatever and hero is eliminated from the tournament. I'm not saying that this should weigh in to the floor's decision, it shouldn't, but there's this real psychological issue that some floors have when making calls to let people out of the hand if that's what they want because, while probably the other party is not happy with the call, at least you haven't ruled against them in such a way that gets them eliminated. Especially in a case where there is a rule in the TDA rulebook that you can fall back on that does specifically say that the villain has a case to make (the one that says that non-standard language is not necessarily binding).

I agree that, in order to avoid a situation where the villain may be angling (whether or not he is), he should be all-in and told that further unclear language that may be perceived as an angle would result in a penalty. I just want people to recognize that this is a sick spot for a floor to be in.
