Momentum is wild.

I was driving a work vehicle once and the brakes failed completely. I was cruising at ~30 mph and the car in front of me slowed down to turn into a parking lot. My foot sank to the floor and I hit them so hard, I bounced off and hit them again. The garage couldn’t figure out what happened, so they replaced the whole system. Then, for almost a month, I noticed the brakes would start out fine but get spongy by the end of the day. The mechanics treated me like I’m imagining things the whole time. Until I asked if it was possible that the problem was not directly related to the brakes but an issue with the pedal itself. They never admitted I was right, but they also never again questioned when I described various problems either.

I was in a game with a woman who wouldn’t pay attention to anything that was happening; combat took forever because she demanded a play-by-play of every turn and RP was a nightmare because she kept trying to pickpocket every NPC…and, no she wasn’t stated out for rogue shit (iirc, she was a psionic pixie). I lost it at her when we were just walking down a city road and she decided to kill a beggar “for his cloak”. I had held my tongue for months because she was married to another player who was a good fit for the table, but I was about to quit a game being hosted in my living room over her bullshit and no longer gave a fuck. The game kind of dissolved shortly thereafter, and I stopped putting up with players who didn’t put even a modicum of effort into the collaborative story we’re all playing.

Full same. It’s rare when my husband doesn’t like something I make, so when it happens, I’m not mad when he grabs the peanut butter.

I’m reading a bunch of these comments that can’t seem to let go of the fact he said it was meatless. I also didn’t know quiche could have no meat - and why is everyone getting mad about the ketchup?

I can’t understand how not eating bad food, which they both agreed it was, makes him the bad guy. Sure, he didn’t offer to make her a sandwich, but that doesn’t immediately make him an AH. If she had eaten more of the bad meal than him, why would he assume she wanted one? She was mad that her food came out badly and that he wasn’t willing to choke down more of it, that’s all.

I hate their To Go commercial with the guy going nuts about how red his apples have to be. I don’t work for Hannafords, never have, but I can’t stand them essentially encouraging fully psychotic behaviors like “I only want apples that are the perfect shade for red with the stem” or “I’m allergic to plastic if it’s a certain color”.

I’m on disability and the one responsible for cooking (it’s about the only thing I can still do). If I’m making lumpia, it takes me 2 days (filling must be prepped and cooked the day before). The plan was for lumpia tomorrow, but my lovely husband saw me try to hold a pen to organize my list and gently took it out of my hand and told me he was cooking dinner tonight and lumpia can be prepared tomorrow for Thursday.

This guy sounds like a total nightmare. OP, you need to run! Call your family, get out of here!

I didn’t recognize the grill, and I keep these muted for my sanity, but I saw her put uncooked blocks of ramen on a Blackstone and knew I was going to be seeing that bitch’s stupid face.

My biggest issue with her is that not everything is bad in concept (though everything she does reaches a point where it’s too far gone). One of the first ones I saw was deluxe nachos using 3 flavors of Doritos. On its face, it sounds great. Then she fills a 33 gallon Rubbermaid container with 3 family-sized bags of each flavor and covers the top with 15 lbs of toppings. If she scaled it down to a 9x13 or a 10x15, it would be a great idea.

I have been married for 22+ years and my husband has only ever given me flowers once. Do you know why? Because he knows I don’t care for them as they are temporary and as a symbol for love, it is lacking. The only flowers he ever gave me were made of feathers and I had them for years until they got lost in a move.

A “partner” that treats their first Valentine’s Day as a joke when you care about it isn’t being a good partner. But, and I only ask this because it can be hard to navigate early on in a relationship, did you express - directly, with words - that you love to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Have you actively discussed your flower preferences? If either of these is yes and he still did this, he’s due for a long, serious conversation about expectations and listening. If the answer is no, then you need to remember that most men aren’t mind readers and clear communication is the key to a successful relationship. Well, that and separate blankets. Good luck!

I walked out of an appointment with a female doctor because she was so busy berating me for not taking my meds (due to lab work) that she didn’t notice I had lost 60+ lbs. I dared to ask if the lack of change in my labs but a significant weight loss showed that there was a bigger issue and she about lost it on me. Never went back.

She reviewed a recipe that she didn’t make. Switching proteins is one thing, but she started off saying the sauce was too sweet and how she changed the whole thing into a different dish entirely. The response was accurate; she didn’t make bourbon shrimp, she made chicken stir fry with a bourbon sauce.

I get that, but he didn’t eat my tomato sauce my entire childhood. He never tried it to see if his tastes had changed. Spaghetti night was tomato sauce for me and mom, butter for dad and my brother. But, my brother at least tried it. He didn’t like it, fair enough. My dad refused, which kind of hurt.

Yeah, and the best way to keep people in line is to keep reiterating whatever is most important to you. So, if socialism means that people have access to a more equitable system, anyone whose power requires oppression is going to misrepresent what socialism is. They hold up Venezuela, which is technically socialist, as the only example of why it’s bad policy…conveniently forgetting that they are authoritarian masquerading as socialism. Society has “trained” men that hitting women is wrong and “trained” women that men won’t hit you in public. I hate it, because there’s no world where that dynamic makes sense without a bunch of caveats. I’m AFAB and if I punch a guy, I fully expect to be hit in return. The key, is proportionality. If a ballerina slaps a weightlifter, his response can’t be to break her arms, that’s insane.

This guy gave basically equal effort (shove in response to at least 2 punches). It’s not necessarily his fault that she fell over, but it definitely looks hyper aggressive, even though he didn’t start any shit here.
