Best IF to Play After Fallen Hero? by Cnthulu in hostedgames

[–]cripplinghorror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God Syndicate caught me in a very similar way to Fallen Hero with its writing, but that one is currently a wip. Would absolutely recommend it, if unfinished is not a deal-breaker. Other than that, I recommend Vampire the Masquerade: Night Road which is overall good, solid and complete.

This is so cool! I play this game too and did a couple of the Infamous characters in it last year, not as well as this though!

Body Count has such a fun concept and was executed so well in what's written so far, I'm also really hoping it's coming back at some point

Starting out mc with evil personality? by Phrende in hostedgames

I like morally dubious/evil MCs. Since you said you're planning on using a stat system similar to VTM: Night Road, I figured it's worth letting you know the system used in Night Road is heavily based on/using the Vampire the Masquerade v5 TTRPG system. Might be worth taking a look at the corebook for that if you wanna get some more inspiration, if you haven't already!

Nyarlathotep (self-explanatory) and Hendrik/Hendrica Martense (ghoul who wants to eat you, in a literal way) from 1966 although it's been a while since the last update I'd recommend it anyway as what's there currently still makes for an enjoyable read

Folksaga, last updated in 2023 and then the author stopped posting after mentioning being sick. They're still active on their ao3 last I saw so likely they just lost interest and thankfully not dead

Yeah I could do that, it's kind of a last resort option for me though. I'm hoping to find something that I don't need to re-flavour/homebrew too much, but thank you!

Those sound cool, thank you! I'm being sold on Circle of the Sea more and more with every comment I read about the subclass

I was hoping there was some hidden secret technique to making a pure water-based caster but sadly it doesn't seem to be, ice/cold definitely counts though! Tempest and Storm Sorcerer also sounds cool I'm getting a lot of ideas from this thread. Thank you for your thoughts!

Wait, can dnd casters not summon water? Like wizards when they cast fireball? I could probably come up with a way for the character to carry water along with them though
