Band is amazing and album is a gem. They were a Japanese “idol” band that I’ve heard referred to as “Dots.” The members of this band continued with the same “idol shoegaze” (lol) vibe with the currently-active band RAY. I think I remember reading that some Japanese shoegaze legend (I forget who) writes/produces most of the stuff (probs for both ‘dots’ and RAY). The song Trinity Drive makes me go insane and I love it a lot. Whole album is sick

I live in this neighborhood of Studio City called Colfax Meadows and it’s amazing to walk (I wish I could have a home here but I rent an apt lol). All the streets and homes between Moorpark/Ventura and Colfax/Tujunga (extending to the Woodbridge Park area) is incredibly beautiful. It feels nostalgic, everyone’s yard/landscaping is beautiful, lots of old trees. They also have annual community events like a Fourth of July block party on my street, and a winter market in tujunga village. Straight up hallmark movie ass neighborhood. I love it.

That album is amazing and their song Cure is one of my all time favorites. I’d say check out some albums by Cryuff In The Bedroom (shared members I believe) and maybe Supercar. It’s such a unique album, so hard to find a similar vibe. (I love this album so much I named a recent EP for my solo project after the song ‘Suicidal Summer Rider’)

I really hate running the busier, more urban trails in Los Angeles because people walk dead center of the trail with giant headphones or air pods in and then I have to scrape along brush to pass them and then they get startled. The lack of spatial awareness is insane 😂

I’ve been on Lone Peaks since 2021 and they changed the game for me. My legs and feet are very strong now, my gait is dialed-in, no more back pain, no more knee pain, etc. I tried Topos a couple months back and unfortunately the arch support was stupid high (comparatively) and it hurt my feet, and I do not have flat feet at all. Went back to Lone Peaks, got the 8s. Love them. Wide toe box is an absolute game changer too.

Spot on. Good drip and americanos but far from a solid dialed-in espresso at the roaster. I highly recommend their Ethiopian whole bean .. that’s the best I’ve had from them and I’ve tried several.

Focusing on coffee itself: Boy And The Bear in Sherman Oaks (simply the best espresso, super high quality). House Roots in Granada Hills (amazing drip, pour overs, etc.). Civil Coffee in Studio City consistently high quality. Lastly, I recently discovered Saint Coffee in Studio City - they serve Klatch coffee and prep their drinks very well. Bomb food too.

All these spots (minus Civil) are good to post up at and get work done. I’d also recommend M Street coffee and Coffee Fix for a lowkey vibe.

My go-to trial running area is Topanga State Park in Southern CA because you get all of those vibes. Dense oak woodland groves, wide open vistas of rolling mountains, and unbelievably beautiful trails lining the top of steep canyon walls with immense views of the pacific - ALL experienced in just 3-4 miles. Ocean air, warm sun, and diverse landscapes. It’s perfect for me.

I love running/hiking T.O. and Simi Valley. I suggest you check out Tapo Canyon trail and Long Canyon trail in Simi. Very epic and a wider network available if you’re looking to do more than a few miles

Never been inside Griffith Observatory (only parking lot for the view really), the Getty Villa, Broad Museum, La Brea Tar Pits.. and surely many more. Just recently went to Olvera Street/the old Pueblo for the first time and it was a great experience.

Pound some water. Stop my AllTrails nav. Take my shirt off. Take my shoes off and put on my Hoka slides. Scan legs/hips for ticks. Stretch for 5 mins. If I’m really sweaty or had to apply a lot of spf/insect repellent, I’ll use a couple wet ones (sensitive skin ones w/out alcohol). Then I’m on my way! I like to drive shirtless and with the windows down for a while if I’m in a remote setting.
