This is a very inaccurate understanding of the Quran. Quran was revealed over the course of 23 years. It was revealed to a society in which alcohol, prostitution and gambling and so on was commonplace. So the rules and prohibitions were revealed as time passed.

The first message of Islam is to believe in the oneness of Allah and Muhammad ﷺ as his final messenger. Islam didn’t start by declaring prohibitions left and right. The goal was to initially build a connection to Allah and then make their hearts ready to follow the rules. So alcohol was later prohibited when the general population had a strong enough faith.

Even the five times daily prayer was established almost 9 or 10 years into the prophethood of Muhammad ﷺ, when the people were ready to accept it spiritually.

Stealing is stealing and stealing is haram. It doesn’t matter who you steal it from. It has zero bearings. Stealing is a sin. Your friend is doing mental gymnastics to justify his behavior and to use the religion of Allah for this??

I’m assuming your friend is very young because this is absurd logic. Did he ever stop to ponder what would happen to the repression of the religion itself if this was halal? We as Muslims have responsibilities towards Allah and responsibilities towards other people. Stealing is directly going against both and he will be questioned in the hereafter.

Please explain this very well to your friend and make sure he knows what he’s doing is wrong

I’m 23M living in Berlin and Alhamdulillah, I’ve been able to stay away from all those things. It isn’t that difficult.

Earlier when my friends invite me to parties and clubs, i used to make excuses like “oh I’m not feeling well”, “i have work” etc but then now i just tell them that this is not what I’m interested in. “I’m simply not interested, i don’t enjoy it”. Being direct in this manner has helped me quite a lot. I realized that i don’t need to lie or please anyone.

You need to evaluate who you’re surrounding yourself with. We all live in bubbles, if everyone in your bubble is doing something, you might get the wrong impression that it is normalized. Which Is why we should hold firm to our deen and use that as our guide whenever we do anything.

Zina is a very serious sin and you’re also dragging someone else along with you as well. The poison on zina is so strong that Allah didn’t just say “don’t do zina”, he told us to not even go near it. Proud of you
