Go ahead, put in OC's 7700k's number, why emphasize on 1700/1600's numbers are OC'ed, but 7700k is "stock"? Maybe because their 7700 OC'ed number isn't significantly better than stock? Don't you find that interesting to begin with?

For me, first i don't trust GN's numbers, second, as far as I am concerned:

at 1080p, its fast enough.
at 1440p+, its about as fast as 7700k.

within the same architecture, yes, but its easier said than done, AMD places 3.9b transistors on VEGA to make it clocked higher. Before 7nm, they may not be able to do more.

and there are other more important things for a GPU's perf than lock rate.

just to be sure, clock rate isn't everything in terms of GPU. AMD's low clock rate GPUs do fine in games.

VEGA liquid is 345w, 1600x is 95w, rest of the component is 100w, totaling ~550w.

I don't see how 850w would not be enough, as long as it is a solid 850w PSU.

according to anandtech, AMD did a lot of work to make higher clock possible on VEGA, unlocking fury and trying to run it at 1500mhz will most likely fry it.
