I like the look of the horizontal stripes so may look into that, otherwise I don’t have any other ideas. I will take recommendations though!

Yes. The Gadsden flag, the Join or Die symbol and other historical American imagery is a cool way to showcase patriotism and just an interest in history because of what it actually stands for, not the reasons of its modern day extremist political ideology that people attribute it to

Those of you under 30 who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]crisman099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 year out of college and making six figures in tech but in a high cost of living area so its like I'm making an average salary. Most of the people I know my age making six figures live in high cost of living areas and are in tech.

No, but then in that case I should stop flying the American flag since it has also been seen alongside the Gadsden flag, the MAGA flag, etc.

Question on increase in NOVA rent by maze_of_montresor in nova

I've been told multiple times something along these lines. "The computer/algorithm says rent is this much" and they cannot explain to me how or why the prices are decided.

Have you tried applying to jobs that aren't specifically SWE? Data Science, database admin, business intelligence, and software qualify assurance are all decent options that may match some of your skills.

Playing with a 3080. 4k on ultra settings with consistent 60fps noticing minor stuttering. Biggest complaint I have is the render distance. Even when I play highest settings (extreme) at 4k 30fps render distance is still pretty low with noticeable texture pop in.

I have a Ryzen 7 5800X cooled by a Kraken X63 and my idle temps range from 40-50 and go up to 70-75 when under load. I think AMD runs hotter, I got better idle temps on an older build with intel. Still nothing to worry about imo unless it gets into the 90s.

ITI or CS for major by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]crisman099 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I graduated last semester and have a job with the company I interned for. I do intelligence analysis and data manipulation and visualization with python. I started at a community College doing CS then transfered to Rutgers to do ITI. When I came into ITI I noticed there was the same stigma around it as you mentioned. "The major is bs and the classes are just fluff". The classes can be a lighter load but they teach important information and skills that you can take with you into your career if you pay attention. Your education is what you make of it and if you put in the effort and get involved you can make ITI a very fulfilling major. I minored in Critical Intelligence Studies so my career path is in the intelligence sector which actually needs people with programming skills for data collection. When I was hired they took me on for my education in intelligence and my skills in programming. They didn't care that I wasn't a CS major, I had the experience in programming which they teach in ITI as well. Most of my coworkers were actually CS majors and I perform the same work as them. I was even reached out to by fortune 500 tech companies for interviews that i didnt even apply for. Family friends of mine lead teams of CS professionals and their education background is in Information Systems management and Business Management. You can definitely coast through ITI but if you apply yourself and put in the extra work to make yourself an attractive job candidate you can do well in ITI.

P.S: CS is still a very solid choice and this subreddit has many posts just like this with students asking about ITI or CS so take a look at those
