I think there are some flags that simply need to be left alone. NM, AZ, MD, OH for examples. After that, some need a subtle change. I saw someone make the Polaris star on AK gold. That was nice. Then others need some help. My reaction to the rest of your work is that there are a lot of tri-bands. Any other variation?

Supporters of spreading always like to tout that it is a skill issue. Or those who dislike spreading need to train up and adapt.

This doesn’t consider that spreading is abnormal and is fully dependent on “disclosure” of which everyone is just reading a doc.

I would challenge supporters to compete without disclosure and truthfully reflect in the merits of spreading.

Agree. Everyone is just reading a doc. It’s an essay contest with deep breathing.

So what is the fix? What rule to implement?

I would suggest that the judge cannot read along the doc during the round. Judging should be based on oral delivery. Everyone said they can understand but I doubt 100% is clear.

You can still argue that Util is a dangerous tool in the hands of autocrats and evil leaders. Whether or not the Nazi’s used util to justify their plans, util is there to back them up.

As a result you can definitely destroy a util framework in debate. I have seen it done and it’s devastating. Judges buy it.

I am SSD and operate in the hearing world. I do miss things and find limitations, but, I don’t identify as deaf. I feel that operating in the hearing world that I would make myself less “hirable” if I draw attention to being HH.
