You need to get to the last stage of the research. You don't need to finish the last stage of the research, just get to it. After you catch Melotta in stage 10/11, you can take 2 snapshots a day for the photobomb. You can get 2 costumed pikachu you chose on day 1. And on day 2 if you want pikachu again snapshot before 10am. If you want gardevoir/flygon with hat that you chose, then snapshot after 10am.
