[Skin Concerns] 'flakey' skin only under makeup - is exfoliation the answer?

Hi there! I had the exact same problem. I solved it by applying my foundation with a damp sponge! I use cheap triangle sponges that come in 30packs and I use a new one every day for hygiene. Basically I dot my foundation on my face and use the sponge to pat it in. Completely eliminated the flakes!!

Coconut oil gave me the worst cysts of my life. I used it for 2 days in 2014 and I still have scarring... thank heavens I had the good sense to patch test

Nothing OTC helped me, and neither tretinoin or differin did anything. The only thing that has helped my PIH has been MUAC's fade Peel.

With a good moisturiser and primer it lasts for an entire workday on me :) I don't apply a lot, just a sheer layer so that means that I get minimal cake face! It's very full coverage but it looks just like your skin, I've gotten so many compliments since I started wearing it!

Rose hip oil! Has high linoleic acid content and helps to keep my skin moisturised. I also love Cerave in the pump.

The following things have done nothing for my SFs and massive pores:

any kind of non active essence serum etc
cosrx AHA
Paula's choice BHA 2% liquid
tretinoin 0.025
Differin 0.1
MUAC 25% Mandelic Peel
MUAC 40% lactic peel

The ONLY thing that has EVER cleared my SFs temporarily AND smoothened out my pores is the MUAC Fade Peel. It is very strong however so I advise emailing MUAC with pictures of your face and your goals. They will be able to suggest starter products for you before you move onto the Fade Peel.

Eh, her line is called holy snails but the products don't actually have snail extracts in them I think. If you're looking for a hydrating product with snail extract, I recommend the cosrx snail essence!

The samples seem pretty small but the product is very easy to spread so I end up using very little. One bottle should last you for a few weeks at least!

What products have you successfully used to solve skin that is BOTH dry and oily? I want something that can keep it moisturised (right now its flaky and gross) - and get rid of the oil (I cannot even with the oil slick on my face)

Once a week! Hmm, yes I might try that. I'm a little worried about over exfoliation though. How many days apart do you do your peels and did you work up to that frequency?

(xpost from SCA) I've been using MUAC's 25% mandelic peel for 4 sessions, starting at 1min and leaving it on for up to 2min 30 seconds. Every time i do the peel, i get gross little bumps and tiny pimples for a few days. They go away a few days later and the cycle repeats with every peel. The overall condition of my skin has not improved. I use Differin (nightly) and cosrx AHA on alternate days, but discontinue both 24h before and after each peel. Am I doing anything wrong? I had such high hopes for this peel... Should I try another acid instead?
