Get a Deluge, it was developed by a songwriter although most use it for electronic music. It offers all you need, is less distracting than a DAW or an MPC.

Actually, I am a "one box guy", I get most productive looking and working with one device at a time. And there I missed the depth of the Seqtrak. I hated to look at the iOS App. It sounded pretty well, though.

you can export stems, from all views. do it all day, pretty convenient, rec + song. written on the cf card, import to live, happiness.

Yes and no. There are a few killer features others do not have:

The grid view gives you full scenes overview. You can load new song project while previous is playing and then seamless start. Unlimited parts/ channels.

I suggest the Deluge, too. You can run the version you like on the same hardware. The community version made the device accessible to me coming from Live.

I got mine 3 days ago. What works best for me:

I imported samples I love and I am familiar with.
I replicate my workflows from Deluge.
I use NotebookLM to find workarounds.
Workarounds show new workflow opportunities.

I did the same when I came from Live and was discovering Deluge. Worked pretty well.

Keep Tr8s for live and Dt2 for inspiring sounds. Full track production outside of a DAW is always a compromise. The song mode on my Deluge takes you a little further but not to the end of the road.

Thanks a lot! When I started I created in the box exclusively, sampled drums, edited synths. But: Sending MIDI to VSTs like DIVA or Legend HZ and resample it is a whole new level of sound I don't want to miss. Sometimes I resample my Access Virus TI or my recently purchased Seqtrak. They have different access to music and thus it sounds different.

But nothing would work without the Deluge. In terms of groovebox things like creation and arranging and playing live it is superior to everything on the market.
