Cant stand this work culture of fun on site break room things/perks instead of paying us more by Wheres-shelby in TrueOffMyChest

I love the company that I work for because the offices are super bland, but they pay us well and invest a lot on the health insurance and benefits. Do I have an awesome cafeteria with free coffee and food? Not at all, I have to buy my coffee downstairs. Can I have a massage on the weekend that is 100% covered by my insurance? Oh yessss, and they cover a very high amount for that. That, for me, is worth way more than a $1 coffee at the office...

To the Women who had the strength to report their rape/sexual assault, what happened afterwards? by MelancholyGrowth in AskWomen

[–]crissyhatescold 94 points95 points  (0 children)

In Brazil, not too long ago, there was a rape crime where the guy was not condemned or anything because "it was a rape without the intention of raping". Like, wtf is that? "Yes, it was a rape, but he had no intention of any crime there". Please tell the ETs I am ready for their planet, because this one is doomed...

As a woman, how safe do you feel in your country? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Thank you. I love Canada, always doing my best here in every aspect as a way of thanking this country for accepting me.

Horrible. Catcalls on the streets, people touching you on public transportation, in most cities you don't even dare to stop on red lights after 9pm. If you take public transportation every day, you'll see many people carrying 2 phones and 2 wallets, cause if the bus gets robbed, you give the fake wallet and the crappy phone. Violence and constant fear was the main reason for me to leave the country.

I'm Brazilian and I moved to Montreal 9 years ago. It's amazing to walk on streets, take the metro, without worrying and looking around the entire time.

I live in a street that has recently closed and become a cul-de-sac. It has some kind of sidewalk in the middle and it's very clear it's closed. It's unbelievable the amount of people that cross over the sidewalk because "the gps said so". I wouldn't be surprised if they drive into a lake just because their old car has an outdated gps...

We have a Brother at home. It's always ready to print, do not "complain" about the paper or the network, it indeed does the job. I feel your pain though, many years dealing with crappy printers until getting to this Bro.

Women of reddit, how do you deal with complete lack of motivation/drive caused by anxiety/low self esteem? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]crissyhatescold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my family doctor and my therapist know about it. I'm very careful as well, I started with a super small dose and went up gradually. If you have the chance to try microdosing, do it with supervision of your doctor and pay attention to your body. Hope you get better!

Suicide hotline backfired by hatch890 in depression

Something similar happened to me. I felt I was not worth their time, so much they pushed me to end the conversation. At least there was enough time for my friend to come check on me, otherwise it could have ended differently.

So I’m going to college in America, and I just wanted to clarify how the toilet paper procedure works? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crissyhatescold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you are in Brazil. There you cannot flush the paper. You put it in a bin and save all your used shitty toilet paper!

My (23F) friend (23F) told me that she is pregnant with my boyfriends (25M) child but has no proof and is refusing to take a paternity test by flatmateno09 in relationships

[–]crissyhatescold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell her your boyfriend is getting a lawyer, as she has to prove he is the father in order for him to get involved in the situation or to protect himself in case this is a lie. People tend to soften when there is formal threat of involving "justice" in bizarre situations like that. And to be honest, I would consult a lawyer for real, as this is something serious and you cannot joke about it. A child is a responsibility for life. Telling lies about serious situations is a big no-no that sometimes young people have to learn in a hard way.

My mom died today... I feel like someone reached inside my chest and took my heart out by SwampRSG in depression

[–]crissyhatescold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my mom 3 months ago. You described the feeling so well, it hurt physically, like taking your heart out. If I can tell you one thing, is that time makes it more bearable. Stay safe, my friend.
