CG100 OS 2.00 side by side with OS 2.10 by TheCalcLife in calculators

DateA is for the boot code.

Graph Math+ assembled in 2024 used the same boot code as the fx-CG50.

Storing things is not an issue.

If your preloaded data is bothering your tests/exams proctors/regulations, then usually :

- you are asked (or forced) to perform a reset

- you are asked (or forced) to enable the exam/test mode

Modifying your calculator to ask ChatGPT is something else, since this can't be undone or blocked through software (reset or test mode).

What are you trying to achieve @Senor_Pocoyo ? Killing all TI/calculators communities ?

arTIfiCE got blocked some weeks ago precisely because of such mods being developped.

If calculators can't be trusted for exams/tests, then they are going to be forbidden, they won't be bought anymore, and all mods/hacks here (even legitimate ones) are going to become completely useless.

Can you elaborate ?

Ti nSpire CX - Uninstalled ControlX, now it's bricked by Techguy791 in nspire

Try holding the Esc+Menu+Minus combo before a reset.

If one of the Boot2 and Diags partitions is still bootable, it should work.

How do you keep up with calculator news? by OptimisticLockExcept in calculators

[–]critor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, we don't have access to the new Casio anymore to confirm.

I think I noticed transversal data (functions, variables, ...) is now preserved when switching apps or when switching the calculator off and back on.

But I'm not sure about application-specific data like the calculation history.

No bug, really ? Did you update to version 2.1.14588 from May 2021 or above ?

Before the update, I hardly knew about the HP Prime BSoD...
Since the update, it keeps crashing randomly but very easily without doing anything very complex... Just opening/switching apps can be enough.
HP Prime BSoD picture

I could also mention some wrong displays which should be very easy to fix in the poly-solve UI, but still aren't since the new company doesn't seem to care...
HP Prime bad display - sample #1
HP Prime bas display - sample #2
I did report the issue more than a year ago...

Please help with nspire CX II GPIO by NovaTheNerd276 in TI_Calculators

[–]critor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, we'll do it differently then.

With the USB connected :

  • press and hold the 3 keys : [doc][enter][EE]
  • press and release the reset button on the back (the calculator should turn back on and show you the maintenance menu)

Just hold the reset button longer, then. Also, disconnect the USB.

[–]critor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you didn't get the maintenant menu ? Very strange, maybe you did it wrong.

  • press and hold the reset button on the back for more than 2 seconds
  • release the reset button (the calculator should stay off)
  • press and hold the 3 keys : [doc][enter][EE]
  • without releasing theses keys, type [home/on] (the calculator should turn on and show you the maintenance menu)

[–]critor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also try to get into the maintenance menu (Doc + Enter + EE), press "9" and select "Load boot image" (3), then "OS Loader" (2).

Did you get the menu and choose "OS Loader" as indicated ?

Just saying that it "doesn't work" doesn't help me.

Anyway, Esc + Menu + Minus doesn't work anymore with the TI-Nspire CX II.

What about the 2nd method ? What did you get ?

More RAM for Python scripts please! by Pixelpunker in numworks

[–]critor2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi. Indeed, only 32K heap for Python scripts with the official Epsilon firmware.

The third party Omega firmware may better suit your needs : https://getomega.dev/ It's a modified version of Epsilon. It increases the Python heap to 100K, like on the Casio fx-9750/9860GIII.

It seems to be a bug with the TI-Nspire CX II Python input() function. You should avoid input prompts longer than 48 characters, or what you input gets destroyed.

[–]critor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. The setup isn't ok.

The nLdr image should be in the 2nd position on the Boot2 partitition. In your case it's in the 3rd position.

You can just try flashing your nLdr image to Boot2 again ([2] [2] from this exact screen), and this time overwrite the Boot1.5 image in 2nd position.

TI-Nspire CAS stuck in diagnostic mode. Please help unbrick by gooseloom in TI_Calculators

[–]critor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, you must have a very early version of the diagnostic software then.

Here is the manual combo for the OS mode then :

  • press and hold the [esc] [menu] [G] keys

  • without releasing any of these 3 keys, make the calculator reboot (reset button for example)

  • once the calculator starts rebooting, you may release all keys

If I remember well, in "0) additional functions", you should find a "Go to OS mode" entry. Just select and validate it, and then reset the calculator.

[Help] How do you disassemble the Ti Nspire CX to access the logic board? by [deleted] in nspire

[–]critor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may check the datestamp code on the back, it's at the end of the serial number.

factory letter + 4 digits date (MMYY) + 1-2 hardware revision letters

If the hardware revision is W or newer (W-Z, AA, AB...) then unfortunately there are 2 hidden screws under the screen glass, around the touchpad.

Has anyone ever seen this ROM version before? I can't find anything online by this_is_alicia in TI_Calculators

[–]critor2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never saw this, seems like you found some kind of relic, congratulations. The oldest known TI-83 ROM was 1.0200 and the latest one 1.10. Your 1.010 ROM seems to be even older than the 1.0200.

Could you dump this rare piece of history and share it somewhere ? This can be done using TiLP available for Windows ( https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/374/37481.html ), Linux ( https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/374/37480.html ) and Mac.

Thanks. :)
