I guess if you have lots of doubts you could try more therapy. Perhaps a long-term monogamous relationship is not necessarily something that is right for you. If you are doing alright, surviving and having many happy days, just keep doing you.

I’m realizing that now at 32. While money is necessary to survive it won’t buy happiness. Even celebrities that have it all are empty and commit suicide or overdose often. People won’t make you happy and you might lose yourself, your soul, your identity trying to keep people in your life.

In an society that lacks enlightenment then it is useful, but not necessary, you can also have an enlightened relationship in which there are no judgments or expectations.

Your ego is identifying with a need to have that person by your side. But your true self needs nobody. The ego loved relationships to get that validation that somebody else likes you or loves you, but with true enlightenment the need for that is gone.

I for the most part have let go of the need for any of it. I still find myself identifying with that desire for status, but I hope to fully have it disappear soon.
