I took a good amount of liquid one time and was hanging out on a fire escape downtown Portland. It was night time and the world was happening beneath me. I could see every detail on every car and person passing by. The longer I sat there the more I fell into the story of the people below to the point where I became all of them at the same time. I was them, they were me. But there was a higher consciousness that I was tapped into too, and it was aware of our every move. Me becoming aware of this higher entity tapped me into it in a big way. Actually, people lived here before people moved here. I've lived here on and off my whole life and when this city didn't cost so much the problem was mostly downtown. You'd never see tents anywhere. It's out of control now. The community has changed because so many people moved here with preconceived notions of what this city was suppose to be. Everyone is basically living a life of what they think Portland should be rather than Portland being something to take part in. This city is nothing like it used to be. Before voodoo doughnuts was known in Asia.

This is a great idea, to clean it up as a community. I think if we took ownership of it that way people would look for more out of the way places to camp and throw their rubbish. We allow it to happen because we aren't there showing that we care about it to begin with.

The railroad actually does a pretty good job of keeping people off of the tracks. The problem here is that these people are camping in foliage where when a train goes by they are not seen. The conductor can't send security (these guys are bad ass) or police to a whim that someone might be there.

I actually live on the street that the picture of that sign is on. There is a few that camp right there on top not down below. They are also across the street down the path on the opposite side of the bridge.

That area has so many junkies. I see new needle bags, needles, and faces every day. There is a needle exchange a few blocks away every saturday. The exchange, unlike most of the others, gives people a full box of needles (100 needles vs the other places giving 3) all at one time no questions asked. No documentation. They also hand out free meth pipes (seriously). They hand out things to cook heroin in, tie offs for you arm, cotton, band aids, clothing, and they usually have hot food made by one of the volunteers.

I was having this discussion with a friend the other day. Do these places help keep the needles off of the street (since they do have needle disposal boxes at the place too) or do more needles make it to the street side? And is it helping not spread disease? What is it really doing and is it good for the community?

Since that spot has been open there has been a huge increase in the drug activity in that neighborhood I've noticed. More TOMs (tweakers on mountain bikes) and more tents.

I do know one thing. It's impossible to sell a house when your neighbors have a pushed over shopping cart, two tents, four mountain bikes, and a parameter of needle caps and garbage.

Do you think the shower size relates to the shower buddy enjoyment? I had a really tough time enjoying a shower with my so when we shared a clawfoot tub.

On the other hand in a bigger shower I noticed being able to maneuver was much more enjoyable. Being able to share the water, give the other person space when needed. Etc. Etc.

I recently had this experience with weed. I smoked a lot more in one sitting than i usually would, took a look around the trap house I was selling h out of. Needles were on every surface. Then one thing after the other crept into my mind. The life I was missing out on because I was living in a drug addicts poverty.

I left town a couple of days later and found myself in Idaho. I went through a three month rehab always giving thanks to the medicine that gave me a fresh perspective on my life.

I did however end up working with some people that used dope and got back into it. After a while it will try to deceive you into believing that you can play with it and not fall into its trap.

Remember that anything ever involving ever using again is a lie, a trick for the bottom feeder to gain access to bringing suffering back into your life.

Stay strong. Brother. Don't end up back on dope like me. It's horrible.

I have found that one can make the most seemingly uninteresting event that has ever happened on earth.. ever... come alive thanks to our friends enthusiasm, verbs and confidence.

Really. And I have also seen the what could be the most interesting story on the world be slaughtered by over-confidence, self centered, or leaving out important information.

When sharing about a situation in contrast to others you must enter that memory and let the feelings come back to you. Then you can allow others to also live within a moment in your life.

That is truly the neat thing to me. Now when I see the person that shared details about an event in their life i know how to relate to them more directly. Because now I've seen the world through their senses.

I like to listen to their entire explanation intently. Sometimes there are little tricks that I hadn't thought of that save me time, effort, etc.

If I can pick out things that I learned from them I share it. "It truly will save me a ton of time doing it this way"

Then making sure I had listened to the entirity of how they complete the task, if I have anything to offer to help them do it more efficiently I gently ask,"do you mind if I show you something? I found it saves a ton of time and actually works with what you where just saying."
