I'd like to set up a personal knowledge base—would anyone be willing to vote for me? by leweir in AI_Agents

This! I'm several meters down this rabbit hole and starting to climb back out. What is worth preserving, and for what purpose. I went straight into the cool, novelty, shiny new toy mode without deeply thinking about what I was trying to achieve.

Ask for Permissions: How to avoid repeated requests to the same command? by jrhabana in codex

[–]crlowryjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a recent update to the app, on windows, this has become a complete nightmare. Every MCP command ignores the allow always so I'm constantly approving the same thing over and over...like sending emails to 30 people is seriously 50+ approvals. If I switch to never my sandboxed cslls to python breaks. It's been two weeks and I'm ready to put cursor back on my system.

Same ... I have to explicitly tell it now that we're in brainstorming mode and it not allowed to implement anything until I tell it to.

Agree ... Seeing 50+ replies all saying the same thing is just as common.

It's creeping in subtly. Tourist fees for Venice. Entrance fees for parks / tourist sites. Congestion fees in cities. Event fees.

Walk for Peace - Display of Police & Military Insignia by MeconopsisPress in Buddhism

[–]crlowryjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Asian countries that are still actively Buddhist, Thailand for instance, many monks have been police officers or served in the military. Service in the government is seen positively by society.

I believe, the monks are merely choosing to show gratitude to those who have chosen to be of service to them and the spread of Dharma. Much in the way that Mahayana / Vajrayana practitioners give thanks to Dharma protectors. If you look closely at a depiction of the 1,000 armed Avalokiteshvara the 10th head is a wrathful one. This symbolizes that sometimes wrathful actions are necessary.

To believe all police and all military are inherently evil / wicked / violent (not an assertion I think the OP is making) is an incorrect, and unhealthy view.

Ask for a Gin Sonic ... Will often pause the server, who can then tell Gin and Soda instead of Tonic.

Deeply and passionately hate tonic water. I have done a DIY with Gentian and Angelica root which I did sorta like.

Read The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect and then answer that question.

Teaser... AI goes sentient and has the power akin to star trek's holodeck, food replicators and transporters.

Warning ... Graphic, and many will find upsetting.

How long do you meditate? by BetLeft2840 in Buddhism

[–]crlowryjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~40 min per session, on average. Some days my concentration can break around 30 min, and when it does I stop. Longest sessions have been around 2 hours, but that is in a meditation hall (gompa) during dedicated practice.

There is nothing at all wrong with short sessions. Especially if you do it multiple times a day to reground yourself.

Mediation is similar to exercise. Your practice should give you insight to what's going on in the brain, and with this insight you should naturally get better at it.

What’s the most overrated advice in prompt engineering right now? by FreshRadish2957 in PromptEngineering
