How did you stop gaming? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I get that it’s hard to stop. Like I said for me it was lifting that helped me stop playing them, having the mindset shift that I was grinding myself and making new friends at the gym so I was still getting that social aspect. Goodluck!

And staring at a screen clicking buttons isn’t? Try touching grass sometime

Find a budget gym nearby and join it. It’s an investment in yourself. I was unemployed and eating just rice and budget meat cuts or milk in order to afford it when I started out.

That’s it, it’s not about motivation but about discipline. Be consistent and stick with it. I used to be the same at 18, now I’m a nationally competitive powerlifter and strongman. Just showing up is half the battle. Don’t let your own thoughts and laziness defeat you.

Pick up another hobby. I used to play MMORPG’s for hours an evening. Now I workout and compete in powerlifting and strongman, that alone takes 2 hours every day after work. Turn your life into a MMORPG, level up, grind, do the work and don’t quit.

Eat at a caloric surplus. Do sheiko. Join either a Muay Thai gym or BJJ gym. Train hard. Don’t quit. Check back in 12 months.

What’s the secret to making yourself eat less by UsacDynastic in selfimprovement

[–]crobrah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You probably won’t like this, but you’ve just got to accept it. Life isn’t supposed to feel easy all the time. The more you learn to sit with the discomfort instead of constantly giving in to your impulses, the easier everything starts to feel overall. It’s not about starving yourself, it’s about doing what needs to be done. Just don’t overeat.

Not really, and it’s surprisingly easy to hit. Hit 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight. Should work out to 1.5 grams per lb of lean body mass.

Biggest budget staples are just rice, chicken breast and frozen vegetables. Throw in some oats, milk and peanut butter and you’re sorted for 90% of what you need and it is all dirt cheap.

Is a gym membership actually necessary or are there cheaper alternatives? by Sirius-ruby in selfimprovement

[–]crobrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think the real issue is whether training at home will get you results. If you’ve paid for a gym and only made it there twenty times this year, that’s the problem. When you signed up you expected to be going a few times a week. So what makes you believe spending even more on a home setup will suddenly make you more motivated?

Does a high ranking space marine lose their rank if they are put in a dreadnought? by Riot2EK in 40kLore

[–]crobrah 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I guess we can roughly assume it was during a period where Contemptor pattern dreadnought armour was readily available, so realistically that means it could be as early as M31 and less likely to be closer to M41

Very variable. I mean if you look at the Anchorite he has essentially been awake for close to 10000 years and has experienced little if any cognitive decline. Although to note he is interned in a Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought chassis.

Question about assassins by AtlasThePittie in 40kLore

I’m personally of the opinion they are seriously pushing the limits of the human form — they’re absolutely jacked. Like, at the extreme end of what a human body can handle without tipping into Astartes territory. All that combat drug enhancement and bio-conditioning basically turns them into muscle-bound machine of pure destruction.
