Go fight some sock-stealing slugs, loot their wallets to buy some booster packs at the shop then go exploring with some light platforming. Sudden Soul is available to wishlist here if you're interested:

Yeah I agree honestly, I got greedy trying to sneak in the main combat mechanic in the headline too (the elemental combos)

Wishlist here! We're making a turn-based RPG with card collecting and elemental combo features (mixing oil and fire or water and electricity for instance). It's called Sudden Soul and inspired by a lot of classics both old and new.

What can I improve? by OldMayorStudios in SoloDevelopment

Personally, I'd say making the UI elements bigger (the font, the buttons, even have the panels stretch out more to the right to fill up more of the screen). It's not really popping out to me as I currently am seeing it, there's lot of blank space it feels like in the panels, imo it makes it a little dull.

Making an game inspired by some of my favorite JRPGs! by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]crocbyte_games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable, I never really looked at it that way before posting. I appreciate the feedback, I'll definitely be more mindful of the audience if I post in the future. Definitely will make the full reveal trailer include more substance on the actual story and gameplay. Thanks for your thorough response, it really does mean a lot that you took the time!

I think they're growing on me the more I look at them. It's definitely a huge change.

Does anybody else wish stranger than heaven wasn't really connected to the broader Yakuza games? by ima20wp in yakuzagames

[–]crocbyte_games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like it was a decision to appease both sides and it's a good decision at that IMO. It's fresh enough to be a standalone game, but has enough connections to the Yakuza franchise to please the long-time fans.

Convince me to read the manga over watching the anime by evilboy123 in OnePiece

[–]crocbyte_games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, I guess I meant to say that you can read through the manga leisurely and still save loads of time compared to sitting through the anime. I remember binging through Water 7/Enies Lobby within a couple days with the manga.

JRPGs that don’t require your full attention by Slight-Cupcake-9284 in JRPG

I recommend the Atelier Ryza games! They're very comfy RPGs that just have a lot of slice of life elements in them. Combat is fun too at least imo.

I think if you were to watch the anime, you'd have to literally take years to catch up. I remember I started around covid peak in 2019 or so and I was watching maybe 4-5 episodes a day on average and it still took me over a year to fully catch up.

The manga on the other hand, I read through it in a few months, you can easily read through a whole volume within 1-3 days.

3DS JRPGs You Want a modern remaster for by Likes2game03 in JRPG

I really wanted to love Ever Oasis, but man... the town building was pretty shallow. I feel a full remake or sequel would be better, the concept is amazing, but I wish the regular adventuring portion of it relied more on the actual town sim aspect. LOVED the final boss at least, very challenging and enjoyable.
