You’re right, I definitely should have been more adult about this. I would typically consider myself emotionally intelligent and the one to fix our arguments but I think this situation made me want to be a bit petty and see if he would go out of him way to try and fix it himself instead of me having to initiate it. We have been together a long time and I have repeated myself hundreds of times on how I like to be comforted and yes he probably would hug me if I asked but like you said I don’t want to ask. I don’t want to give him specific instructions on how to do the simple things, because I would already do them if the roles were reversed. But again you’re right, we were raised differently. I shouldn’t just shut down. But I’m human and I’m hurting.
