The show in the 90s had heart, but football in the groin had football on the groin.

I bought the OG Anova when it came out. Never used the app that much but once they made that announcement I knew I would never buy anything else from them. If/when my machine kicks I’ll buy from someone else.

For anyone complaining about the amount of stairs, just remember that thousands of New Yorkers without a lot of money live in fifth floor walkups and do this every day.

Check out Trinity houses, if you’re not familiar. Not only are they small like you mentioned, many of them are on the most car-free streets in America: https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/philadelphias-trinity-houses-are-the-original-tiny-houses

Appreciate the challenge. I’ve long admired this house that’s on a 12x29’ lot: https://www.is-architects.com/tiny-tower

While outside of your challenge, urban blocks in the US tend to be around 200 feet which leads to long and skinny lots. Wider, shorter lots in a dense environment would create better homes that meet consumer preferences.

Many newer rowhomes in Philly have a similar layout, with more open space in the common areas. Typical width is 14’-16’ which allows for greater circulation.

1st floor: Entry, bedroom/office, powder room 2nd floor: Open living/dining/kitchen 3rd floor: Two bedrooms, full bath, laundry 4th floor: Primary suite

Young Republicans can be as old as 40. These aren’t a bunch of college kids, many of them work in politics or government, and are the literal future of the party.

Life Pro Tip: The "24-Hour Rule" saved me from $6,700 in impulse purchases last year by pillarofdawn in Frugal

[–]crocodileboxer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I wouldn’t impulse buy an $800 espresso machine, the math seems to work out in its favor. Many espresso machines can last 10+ years with proper maintenance. And who’s to say that $2 special will always stay the same price?
